CANDIDATE FOR THE POST OF MEMBERS OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

La mission de l’ICOMOS est, à ce jour et sera dans le futur, de réunir le potentiel professionnel et scientifique
mondial pour des actions systématiques dans le domaine de la conservation et de l’utilisation durable du
patrimoine culturel. A cette fin, l’ICOMOS devra élargir le champ et le caractère multidisciplinaire des activités
de conservation et impliquer des cercles de la société de plus en plus larges.
Selon moi, les priorités de l’ICOMOS pour les 3 ans à venir sont les suivantes :
Continuer les activités de développement de la conception générale du patrimoine culturel et l’élaboration
des documents doctrinaux et des directives de l’ICOMOS.
Elargir la coopération entre les Comités Nationaux et Scientifiques Internationaux de l’ICOMOS, ainsi
qu’entre l’ICOMOS et d’autres organisations internationales.
Développer la continuité et la succession entre les générations au sein de l’ICOMOS.
L’ICOMOS doit stimuler la création de réseaux d’experts régionaux travaillant sur des projets de
conservation communs dans des régions culturelles, comme par exemple l’Europe du Sud-Est.
Afin de mettre en place ces priorités, les mesures spécifiques suivantes doivent être prises :
Développer des projets en partenariat entre l’ICOMOS et ses Comites Nationaux, ainsi qu’avec des
organisations internationales.
Créer un Fond international auprès de l’ICOMOS pour financer la conservation des monuments de la liste
Heritage@Risk et pour des activités spécifiques de l’ICOMOS.
Personnellement, en tant que représentant de l’Europe du Sud-Est – une région dotée d’un patrimoine culturel
exceptionnellement riche – j’espère pouvoir contribuer à la réalisation de ces objectifs, en comptant pour cela
sur ma grande expérience comme restaurateur, enseignante dans le domaine de la restauration de monuments
culturels ainsi que coordinateur de nombreux projets nationaux et internationaux de l’ICOMOS/Bulgarie.
-=-=-=-=-=The mission of ICOMOS today is and will continue to be in the future: uniting the professional and scientific
potential for systematic work in the field of preservation and sustainable use of cultural heritage. To that end,
ICOMOS will have to expand the scope and the multidisciplinary character of conservation activities and to
involve wider public circles in its implementation.
In my opinion, the priorities for ICOMOS for the next three years should be the following:
To continue activities on the development of a common concept of cultural heritage and development of
ICOMOS underlying documents and guidelines.
To enlarge cooperation among National and International Scientific Committees within ICOMOS, as well
as among ICOMOS and other international organizations.
To promote the continuity and succession between generations within ICOMOS.
ICOMOS should encourage the creation of regional expert networks working on common conservation
projects in cultural regions such as e.g. South-eastern Europe.
In order to implement these priorities the following specific measures should be taken:
Develop joint projects between ICOMOS and its National Committees, as well as with international
organisations.
Create an International Fund with ICOMOS to finance the preservation of monuments of culture listed in
the Heritage@Risk publications and other ICOMOS specific activities.
Being a representative for South-eastern Europe – a region with exceptionally abundant cultural heritage – I
personally believe that I can contribute to the implementation of these objectives, relying on my considerable
experience as a restorer, lecturer in the preservation of cultural monuments and coordinator of a number of
national and international projects for ICOMOS Bulgaria.
-=-=-=-=-=La misión de ICOMOS consiste tanto hoy día, como en el futuro en integrar el potencial profesional y científico
para acciones sistemáticas dirigidas hacia la conservación y la utilización duradera del patrimonio cultural. Para
este fin ICOMOS tendrá que ampliar el alcance y el carácter multifuncional de la actividad de conservación y
atraer a círculos sociales cada vez más amplios en esta actividad.
A mi juicio las prioridades de ICOMOS para los próximos 3 años son las siguientes:
Continuar la actividad para el desarrollo de la concepción general sobre el patrimonio y para la
elaboración de los documentos doctrinales de ICOMOS.
Ampliar la cooperación entre los comités científicos nacionales e internacionales de ICOMOS, así como
entre ICOMOS, la UNESCO y otras organizaciones internacionales.
Desarrollar el criterio de la continuidad entre las generaciones en ICOMOS.
ICOMOS debe estimular la creación de redes peritales regionales dirigidas hacia proyectos generales de
conservación en tales áreas culturales como por ejemplo el Sudeste de Europa.
Para que se realicen estas prioridades es necesario emprender los siguientes pasos prácticos concretos:
Desarrollar proyectos de partnaires de ICOMOS: tanto con sus comités nacionales, como también con
organizaciones internacionales.
Crear un Fondo Internacional de ICOMOS para ayudar con medios económicos la conservación de
monumentos incluidos en la lista de Heritage@Risk y para actividades específicas de ICOMOS.
Yo personalmente, como respresentante de Sudeste de Europa – una región con un patrimonio cultural
extremadamente rico – espero contribuir a la realización de estas tareas, contando para ello con mi gran
experiencia de restauradora y profesora en la esfera de la conservación, así como trabajando como
coordinadora de varios proyectos nacionales e internacionales de ICOMOS/Bulgaria.
