The data that has been used in conjunction with Recognized Software (Address Accuracy) is the Postal CodeOM data that Canada Post creates and
compiles, along with other data, into the Postal CodeOM Address Database. However, Canada Post has now created an enhanced database known as the
Point of Call (range based) Address Database, which is more precise than the Postal CodeOM Address Database and in particular eliminates addresses
that either do not exist or are addresses to which there is no mail delivery. As the creator of the Postal CodeOM data, Canada Post is the original source of,
and the owner of the copyright in, all such data. As the compiler of the Postal CodeOM Address Database and the Point of Call (range based) Address
Database, Canada Post is the original source of, and the owner of the copyright in, each of those database compilations. Canada Post Data is subject to
change and the Canada Post Data Files are updated on a monthly basis to incorporate the changes, which changes may include, but are not limited to,
changes to update data that is no longer valid.

Please see contact information on the inside front cover of this guide. You can also obtain product
information and updates from the support site.
System Requirements
Before you install your software, ensure that your operating system is supported by Pitney Bowes
Software. Review our current supported platforms at our support site.
If you are upgrading an installed product, be sure to back up any files you have changed.

Since your product uses system environment variables, you must be logged on as an
administrator to successfully install a product.
Environment Variables
For new product releases, where applicable, the installation process sets the environment variables
shown below. The value xxx is the three-character product code (see the Product Code table for a
listing of these). Note that the default paths are overridden if you supply a different path during
installation.
Environment Variables from Installation

Product Codes
Product Codes
The table below lists the three-character product codes that are commonly used in the installation
procedure. Throughout these instructions, product codes are referred to as xxx. Please substitute
xxx with your product code when it appears in the text.

Internet Installs
We deliver software releases in a zipped or executable file named xxxnnn.ZIP or xxxnnn.EXE,
where xxx is the product code (see the Product Codes table, above), and nnn is the release
number. The file name may also contain additional characters, following the xxxnnn structure, that
indicate post-release build numbers and other important internal information. This file contains an
install image (which in turn contains setup.exe) that must be downloaded to a temporary folder you
define.
Software updates (also called “fixes”) may also be identified by a fix level, along with the product
code and release number; for example: xxxnnnCxxxxxxx.zip or xxxnnnNTSxxxxxxx.zip (or with the
*.exe extension).
Media Installs
We deliver a media image on the product DVD. Additional information may be provided in a
README.TXT file. Installation media is only available from the Pitney Bowes eStore. Please
log in to the Pitney Bowes Software eStore for media purchasing and shipping.
Products and Subscription Databases
In addition to software installation, Canadian CODE-1 Plus requires a subscription database. Follow
the instructions in Chapter 2 (Installing the Databases) to load your subscription databases for
your products.

3. When the job is complete, you will receive notification via a dialog box. Click Yes to review the
output for errors.
4. To ensure that output files were produced, you can check the execution log (JobName.xlg) in the
data directory where you loaded the software (for example, in C:\Program Files\Group1\xxx,
where xxx is your product code). Depending on the product installed, the XLG file or RPT file
lists the number of records read and written during the verification process.
5. If the job did not run to completion, contact Technical Support for assistance.
Obtaining Your Permanent License Key File
If the IVP was successful, your final step is to acquire your permanent license key file from the

Installing Product Updates
To install a product update, follow these steps:
1. Have your Access Key available (if required). The Access Key allows temporary use of the
software.
