DWWA 2013 - A SUCCESS STORY
With Chateau Jolys and Chateau de Jurque,
Domaines Latrille has been awarded not one but three Regional and International Trophies
in the 2013 Decanter World Wine Awards.
We are very pleased to announce the following awards :
• Château Jolys, Jurançon Sec, 2012 – International Trophy, White Blend <15£ and Regional Trophy, White South-West France <15£
• Château Jolys, Jurançon (Sweet), 2011 – Regional Trophy, Sweet South-West France <15£

Located in the South-West of France, Domaines Latrille is one of the leading independent producers of Appellation Jurançon Contrôlée.

THE AWARD CEREMONY
Announced a few weeks before Vinexpo, the Regional Trophies
were celebrated on the 4th of September 2013, at the
prestigious Royal Opera House in London. On this occasion, the
winners of the ultimate Decanter Award - the International
Trophy - were also announced. This year, only 3 French wines
received this coveted distinction.
As the winner of 2 Regional Trophies and 1 International Trophy,
Domaines Latrille has heightened wine lovers awareness &
appreciation of sweet and dry white Jurançon wines. Produced
using the delicious Petit Manseng & Gros Manseng grapes,
Château Jolys, Jurançon Sec 2012 proved itself one of the best by
rising to the international scene.

ABOUT THE DWWA 2013
The Decanter World Wine Awards is the world’s leading wine
competition. Well known for its rigorous judging process,
Decanter World Wine Awards has become the most authoritative
source of wine recommendations for wine lovers worldwide. This
year, the 219 judges were from all around the world and
assessed 14,362 wines from 52 countries.
Of those 14,362 wines tasted, only 155 wines were rewarded with
a Regional Trophy, and only 32 worldwide wines came away with
the ultimate International Trophy.
Jean-Michele Valette MW, DWWA 2013 Judge, says: “What the
DWWA team has really done is to recruit a panel of the very best
palates in the world to taste each wine, and so when a wine wins
a Decanter Medal in this competition, it’s something to be truly
proud of.”

ABOUT DECANTER WORLD WINE AWARDS

This year, the DWWA welcomed a record-breaking 14,362
wines to the competition, from 52 countries around the world.
The DWWA is respected internationally for its prestigious
reputation and unrivalled consumer influence.
The DWWA 2013 recruited 219 judges from 27 countries
around the world, including 75 Masters of Wine, and 13
Master Sommeliers.
Wines are organised for tasting by country, region, colour,
grape, style, vintage, and price, to ensure that wines are judged
with equity against their peers.
All the Gold medal-winning wines within each region are
divided into categories according to price (under or over £15)
and style or grape variety.
All Regional Trophy winners are then split into categories
according to grape variety or style. These wines then compete
for the Exceptional Value International Trophies (under £15)
and International Trophies (over £15) in a separate tasting
judged by Chairman, Steven Spurrier, our guest Vice-Chair,
Gerard Basset MS MW OBE, and three Regional Chairs.
