Abstract. In this open dialogue, we discuss the paper of professor
Zubair Hasan entitled “Scarcity, Self-interest and Maximization from
Islamic Angle”, which he presented at the Islamic Development Bank
on the occasion of his winning of the IDB Prize in Islamic economics
for the year 2009. The discussion is carried out through a
methodological reading between the lines.
