Analyzing gas and liquefied gas is often seen It is perfectly suited to use together with the as problematic. TE Instruments X PLORER combustion system, The chosen sampling technique and the ability but also does an excellent job as a stand to handle different kinds of gases at different alone gas sampler with other combustion pressures analyzers. and physical appearances is challenging to say the least. TE Instruments has developed the GLS, suitable of handling all sorts of gases and Taking simplicity to the next level One loop with a volume of 10 mL for gas and one with 100 μL for liquefied gas, are the standard built-in sampling loops. Simply position the pressurized sample cylinder at the appropriate introduction port and start the XPLORER combustion analyzer. Communication between the XPLORER and the GLS runs via a USB port. The chosen analysis method is being executed and the pre-set number of sample loops is run and analyzed. Parameters temperature, like flow evaporation and speed, pressure are automatically controlled and monitored at all times. Within a few minutes the final result is calculated and stored for reviewing. Optional: Silcosteel® or Sulfinert® treatment for extremely low sulfur applications Safe, reliable and robust In most cases gas is highly flammable and might pose a risk in the laboratory. To ensure the safest possible way of handling, the GLS is equipped with a sensor which constantly measures the composition of the air inside the sampler. When hydrocarbons are detected, the sampler assumes there is a possible dangerous situation and aborts all activity. The display on the GLS and the XPLORER monitor indicate that a situation has occured and various safety measures are taken. The introduction of sampling gas into the XPLORER system and the carrier gas flow are stopped. At the same time the cabinet of the sampling system is purged with the inert carrier gas. After inspection and correction, the reset button on the touch screen can be pressed in order to resume activity. The standard GLS safety mechanism prevents unintended removal of the sample bottle. GLS safety mechanism Stand alone When the GLS is used as a stand alone sampling system, all parameters incorporated touch are set screen. with the Evaporation temperature, number of sampling loops, purge, gas or liquefied gas mode, are all adjustable and can be stored in method files. There is only one parameter controlled manually: the inlet pressure for gas samples. The operator has a choice to set the gas pressure for the gas loop at the desired pressure. For liquefied gas, pressure issues are dealt with automatically. This will ensure a fully controlled gas introduction towards the combustion analyzer and problem free oxidation.
