Questo congresso vuole, tramite alcuni dei numerosi discepoli di Robert M. Ricketts,
presentare una sintesi dell’attività clinica e di ricerca di questo ortodontista dalla genialità
da tutti riconosciuta. Egli si è interessato particolarmente alla crescita craniofacciale,
mettendo a punto un’analisi cefalometrica e un sistema di previsione a breve e a lungo
termine. Ha contribuito molto alla conoscenza delle disfunzioni delle ATM, delle asimmetrie
facciali e sviluppato delle tecniche ortodontiche segmentate che rilasciano delle forze
leggere nel rispetto dei tessuti parodontali e ossei.
Ad ogni oratore è stato chiesto di presentare un tema nell’ambito dei vari campi
d’interesse di questo grande maestro. Ricordando cosi’ ... Robert M. Ricketts.
PRESENTATION DU CONGRES
Ce congrès, qui réunit quelques-uns des nombreux disciples de Robert M. Ricketts,
a pour but de présenter une synthèse de l’activité clinique et de recherche
de cet orthodontiste, dont tous reconnaissent le génie.
Robert M. Ricketts s’est intéressé notamment à la croissance crânio-faciale,
et a mis au point une analyse céphalométrique ainsi qu’un système de prévision à court
et long terme. Il a fortement contribué à la connaissance des dysfonctions des ATM et des
asymétries faciales. Les techniques orthodontiques segmentées qu’il a repensées développent des forces légères, qui respectent les tissus parodontaux et osseux.
Il a été demandé à chaque conférencier de présenter un thème concernant l’un des
divers domaines d’intérêt de ce grand maître. Ceci à la mémoire de Robert M. Ricketts.
CONGRESS: STATEMENT OF INTENT
The congress intends, through the participation of a few of the many disciples
of Robert M. Ricketts, to present a synthesis of clinical and research activity that this
recognized and ingenuous orthodontist carried out. Ricketts was very interested
in cranio-facial growth, and he realized a type of cephalometric analysis and a short
and long-term prediction system. He contributed much to the knowledge we have
on TMJ dysfunctions, on facial asymmetry, as well as segmented orthodontic techniques
which release light pressure on periodontal and bone tissue.
Each speaker has been asked to present a talk concerning one of the great master’s
various fields of interests. In this way, we shall remember Robert M. Ricketts.
