The project seeks to improve male and female Palestinian mental health condition through
improving the access to mental health facilities, developing capacity of mental health care staff
and improving quality of the services.

The project main components
1.
Rehabilitation and construction of Mental Health Facilities and Documentary center run
by the Palestinian MoH; the construction of the three mental health clinics will improve
the physical infrastructure and will address the physical needs for providing sustained
delivery of mental health. At the same time Ramallah Documentary Center will be a
central office to provide a reference services to psychiatrists, psychologists, social
workers and others in the field of mental health.

Provide training to general practitioners and nurses in West Bank and Gaza Strip , in
coordination with several local implementing organizations
3.
Provide necessary training for MoH Personnel and newly recruited Staff as well as the
Ramallah Documentary Center Staff; In addition to the construction activities training
to18- newly recruited staff will be will be conducted.
OBJECTIVES
The objective of the project is to improve mental health services infrastructures in the West Bank
and Gaza Strip, through the rehabilitation, constructing and equipping of three mental health
clinics in Jenin, Hebron and Nablus and one Documentation centre in Ramallah, training of 18 –
newly recruited staff, conducting two cycles of 12 short training sessions for general practitioners
and nurses.

Halhoul Mental Health centre ( Bid evaluation process)

Training need assessment for the existing staff in Nablus and Jenin was conducted and
training sessions was developed accordingly.


PROJECT CONTACT INFORMATION
Selecting of the general practitioners and nurses was completed for the first cycle. And
a the curriculum was developed.
Several meeting was conducted to approve the curriculum both for the Primary Health
care staff and the Existing Mental Health professionals.
