Carême de partage / Share Lent Campaign
La collecte annuelle Carême de partage de Développement et Paix se reçue
jusqu’au 2e dimanche de Pâques (27 avril). Des enveloppes spéciales à
cette fin se trouvent à l’arrière de l’église. Soyons généreux dans notre
contribution à ces programmes d’appui et de solidarité pour des situations de
pauvreté et d’injustice dans le monde.
/ The yearly collection for Share Lent Campaign will be received until the
2nd Sunday of Easter (April 27). Special envelops to this end can be found
at the back of the church. Let us be generous in our contribution to these
programs of support and solidarity for situations of poverty and injustice in
the world.

Comme projet paroissial cette année pour la nouvelle évangelisation, nous
présentons à la communauté de Larder Lake et des environs la mini-série télévisée
THE BIBLE, un dimanche soir par mois. à la Salle communautaire du Complexe
municipal. La prochaine présentation (épisode 3) aura lieu le dimanche 27 avril;
les épisodes 4 et 5 seront présentés les 25 mai et 15 juin. Des cartes d’invitation se
trouvent à l’arrière de l’église, lesquelles pouvant servir d’invitations personnelles
pour amis et connaissances à cette opportunité unique de découvrir la Parole de vie.
/ As Parish project this year for New Evangelization, we are presenting to the
community of Larder Lake and surrounding the TV mini-series THE BIBLE, one
Sunday evening a month, at the Community Hall of the Municipal Complex. The
next presentation (episode 3) will be on Sunday April 27th; episode 4 and 5 will be
presented on May 25th and June 15th). Invitation cards can be found at the back of
the church and can be used to personally invite friends and acquaintances for a
unique opportunity to discover the Word of life.
Collecte pontificale du Vendredi Saint pour la Terre Sainte
La Collecte pontificale en faveur des Lieux Saints aura lieux cette année Vendredi
saint le 18 avril 2014. We prenons conscience comme Église que Jésus est le pain de
vie : « Si quelqu’un mange de ce pain, il vivra éternellement. » (Jean 6, 51) En
partageant pour la Terre Sainte et la mission de la Custodie, il s’agit de l’engagement
de notre vie à aider les autres : la vie de nos frères et sœurs en Terre sainte. C’est
l’assurance d’une véritable amitié pour la VIE.
En donnant pour la Terre sainte, nous fortifions ce lien d’amitié avec la terre de
Jésus. Nous soutenons aussi les chrétiens qui y vivent, y mangent, y luttent et y
espèrent. Cette parole de l’Évangile est l’affirmation de Celui qui aime jusqu’au
bout. Notre don devient un pas de plus vers cette conscience de l’autre. C’est une

Good Friday Pontifical Collection for the Holy Land
This year, the papal collection for the Holy Places will be held on Good Friday, April
18, 2014. We realize as a Church that Jesus is the bread of life: “Whoever eats this
bread will live forever.” (John 6:51) By sharing in the upkeep of the Holy land and
the mission of the Custody, we give witness to commit our life to help others; the
lives of our brothers and sisters in the Holy Land. It is the assurance of a true
friendship for LIFE.
By giving to the Holy Land, we strengthen our bond of friendship with the land of
Jesus. We also support the Christians who live there, eat there and who are
struggling and live in hope. This word of the Gospel is an affirmation of the One
who loved to the end. Our donation is a step forward towards the awareness of others
and an invitation to change our relationship with the Living. (Gilles Bourdeau, OFM,

Banque d’alimentation / Food Bank
La Banque d’alimentation de Kirkland Lake sollicite la générosité de nos
paroissiens pour les besoins de son programme de distribution auprès des
plus démunis de la région. Pour le mois d’avril, on demande d’apporter des
boîtes de jus. En mai, on apportera des pâtes en boîtes. Merci!
The Kirkland Lake Food Bank is counting on the generosity of our
parishioners to help with the needs of its distribution program to those of our
area in need. For April, we are asked to bring juice boxes. In May, we can
bring canned pasta.. Thank you!

«The most important commandment is this: “Hear, O Israel: The Lord
our God, is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all
your soul and all your mind and all your strength. » ( Mark 12: 29-30 )
The first two words of this commandment are very important: “Hear, I O
Israel”. We can hear words, noises, chatter; but to listen is something else! It
is to earnestly extend one’s whole being toward the other; it is to open one’s
ears, but also one’s heart; it is to put one’s self at the other’s disposal. The
traditional prayer would often begin by saying: “Let us place ourselves in the
presence of God and let us pray to him with all our hearts.” Placing ourselves
in the presence of God to hear, to listen, to retain and to put into practice
what he told us. Putting into it all our heart, all our soul, all our mind, all our
strength. This is the reason why prayer requires the presence of the Holy
Spirit: without him, it is impossible to hear, pray, put into practice the word
received.
During those days where a certain atheism, or at least a certain agnosticism,
appears fashionable, it is important to ask with intensity for this presence of
the Spirit. When the people of God were listening, they were faithful to him;
the love of the Lord would appear like dew, it would blossom like a lily, it
would take root like the trees, it would take the beauty of an olive-tree and it
would spread the fragrance of the forests. Such a description may revive a
certain nostalgia of past loves. If [the present time] would allow us to have a
fresh start, to love with renewed fervour, that would be wonderful.
Lord Jesus, you desire immensely that I return at last to you.
Forgive me all my wanderings; heal me of all my unfaithfulness.

« Voici le commandement le plus important : ‘‘Écoute, Israël! Le
Seigneur notre Dieu est le seul Seigneur. Tu dois aimer le Seigneur ton
Dieu de tout ton cœur, de toute ton âme, de toute ton intelligence et de
toute ta force.’’ » ( Marc 12, 29-30 )
Les deux premiers mots de ce commandement sont très importants : «Écoute,
Israël! » On peut entendre des mots, des bruits, du tapage; mais écouter, c’est
autre chose! C’est vraiment tendre tout son être vers l’autre; c’est ouvrir ses
oreilles, mais aussi son cœur; c’est se mettre à la disposition de l’autre. On
commençait souvent la prière traditionnelle en disant : « Mettons-nous en
présence de Dieu et prions-le de tout notre cœur. » Se mettre en présence de
Dieu pour entendre, écouter, retenir et mettre en pratique ce qu’il nous a dit.
Y mettre tout son cœur, toute son âme, toute son intelligence, toute sa force.
C’est pour cela que la prière exige la présence de l’Esprit : sans lui, il est
impossible d’écouter, de prier, de mettre en pratique la parole reçue.
En ces jours où un certain athéisme, ou du moins un certain agnosticisme,
semble de mise, il importe de demander intensément cette présence de
l’Esprit. Lorsque le peuple de Dieu écoutait, il lui était fidèle; l’amour du
Seigneur se manifestait comme une rosée, fleurissait comme un lys,
s’enracinait comme les arbres, devenait beau comme un olivier et répandait
le parfum des forêts. Une telle description peut aviver une certaine nostalgie
des amours passées. Et si [ce temps-ci] nous permettait un recommencement,
un regain d’amour, que ce serait magnifique.
Seigneur Jésus, tu désires infiniment que je revienne enfin
vers toi. Pardonne-moi tous mes égarements, guéris-moi
de toutes mes infidélités.
