For those visiting San Sebastián for either
leisure or business, the principal and most
attractive shops are located in both the
city centre and the old quarter, two areas
separated only by a wide, tree-lined
pedestrian boulevard. Both zones are
delimited by the River Urumea and its
various bridges on the one side, and La
Concha Bay on the other. A feast for all

In 1908, Don Francisco Benegas and his wife,
Doña Justa Echeverria founded 'Casa Benegas',
an establishment comprising a gentlemen's barber's and a perfume store of a markedly English
style. During the Belle Epoque, important figures
from all over the world used to frequent the establishment. During the 70s, and indeed to the present day, the enterprising nature of the Benegas
sisters, Charo and Asunción, has expanded the
business to include the beauty trade also.

brother, José María, started their career as
apprentices in a small jeweller's workshop. In
1979, Victoriano set up in Sarriegui Square,
where he still continues today. Working
alongside his three children: Miguel, who

the setting of precious stones, and Ana, who
specialises in necklaces, the business covers

you may only park for approximately 1½ hours.
