Day is celebrated on the
third Monday of January. It
commemorates MLK’s
birthday, which is on
January 15th.
Martin Luther King Jr (MLK) was born January 15th, 1929 in Atlanta (Georgia). He was a
church leader and fought against racial segregation in the USA in the 1950s – 1960s. He was
a civil rights activist. In 1953, he married Coretta Scott. They had four children. In 1963, he
gave a famous speech “I have a dream”. MLK was assassinated on April 4 th, 1968 in Memphis,
Tennessee.

ONE HUNDRED YEARS AGO... REMEMBER THEM...
On November 11th, 2014,
three pupils from year 10 read letters
written by soldiers who fought during WWI
(World War I) to commemorate the centenary of
the Armistice Day.
A big thank-you to

(10C) for their contributions.
RUNNING CHALLENGE
On Monday November 10th, the pupils from the « Villanelles »
school ran for a charity « Les restos du cœur ». They offered
food to help people in need.

On Friday, December 5th, the pupils from 10A
gave a performance on addictions (alcohol,
tobacco, drugs...).
The parents were invited to watch the show
and to share their personal experiences.
Congratulations to the budding actors !!!
Rougemont - The 2014 Telethon edition was scheduled in the village hall from 2 p.m to 6 p.m.
Last week, the pupils from the « Villanelles » school ran to win tokens to use on the various stands in the
village hall. Cash donations will help people who suffer from genetic diseases.
To win tokens, pupils from the primary school made drawings to decorate the walls of the village hall.
Let’s give the teachers and the pupils a big thank-you for their contributions.
