number of times they hear the sound.
Trois petits moustiques
Trois petits moustiques m'ont piqué
Un sur le front
Un sur le nez
et le troisième au bout du pied
Trois petits boutons m'ont poussé
Un sur le front

et le troisième au bout du pied
Me voilà tout défiguré,
c'est l'été...
(Three little mosquitos

One on the forehead
One on the nose
and the third on the end of my foot
Three little spots came up
One on the forehead

Speaking practice
Pupils read and listen to the well-known song ‘Le fermier dans son pré’ (‘the
Farmer’s in his den’) and practise singing it in pairs.
Le fermier dans son pré
Le fermier dans son pré
Ohé ohé ohé
Le fermier dans son pré
(The farmer’s in his den
The farmer’s in his den
Ei ay enjimo
The farmer’s in his den)
Some volunteers can sing this in front of the class. This would be a good
opportunity to record pupils speaking or video them, and play the recordings
back for self and peer assessment (two stars and a wish).
