The application aims at producing a unique shopping experience offering the fanciest functionalities. The internship starts with a User Centered Design phase during which different prototypes are produced and tested. The second phase consists of the development of the cross platform application using PhoneGap and Amadeus internal framework. BOUTONNET Maël RUWIDO France (France) Maître de Stage : BERNHAUPT Régina Interaction Technologies for Internet on iTV. This internship is the direct continuation of the masterpiece titled “The TV Companion” which goal was to design and implement an Android application handling the different devices in the living-room. A prototype was provided and underwent end-user tests, so the strengths and weaknesses of the application were known. The internship aims at specifying and refining the prototype, and making it cross-platform. CHADID Asmae ROCKWELL COLLINS FRANCE (France) Maître de Stage : SALMON Philippe Enhancement of Situational Awareness in Synthetic Vision System: Integration of traffic information In aviation domain, maintaining a high level of situation awareness is one of the most critical and challenging features of an aircrew’s job. SVS or Synthetic vision system is one of the designed solutions that were developed in order to support and increase the crew’s situation awareness. The SVS developed by Rockwell Collins provides pilots with a realistic three dimensional image of terrain in front of the aircraft as well as obstacles. Nonetheless, other type of information such as the traffic surrounding the aircraft hasn’t been yet encompassed. The aim of the internship is to study the integration of traffic information in this SVS with a primary objective of increasing traffic awareness and reducing the likelihood of midair collisions. CHAKROUN Nedra ROCKWELL COLLINS FRANCE (France) Maître de Stage : BITAR Elias Graphic and Functional rearrangement of a Cockpit Display Screen As a recognized leader in the development and production of advanced multifunction displays, Rockwell Collins offers a full range of sizes and configurations for forward-fit or retrofit applications. In order to develop and improve its products to meet customer expectations, Rockwell Collins expands its offerings by developing a new 8*6” display solution. This internship falls within this context. The main objective of this study is to design and develop an 8*6" cockpit display screen, using the existing functional baseline implemented on the Rockwell Collins products. The eventual solution must meet the standards of the ARINC 661, offer an optimal proposition for information presentation (clarity and position of different parts) and thus enhance the pilot perception of his helicopter state. EL KHAMSI Adam AIRBUS SAS (France) Maître de Stage : POPULUS Frédérique Integration of 3D HMI for an immersive and tactile cockpit The internship aims at assessing the interest of 3D displays in future cockpits. For this purpose, the goal of the study is to design and implement a prototype of a 3D HMI according to a given scenario: “3D Navigation Display used in an RNP approach in mountainous zone, with traffic and weather display”. The delivered prototype will be used for user evaluations involving test pilots. FRICK Clara AIRBUS SAS (France) Maître de Stage : DEPAPE Pierre HMI Design for Surface Operations: integration of charts information to Navigation Display Within the scope of Airport Surface Operations, a need has been assessed to investigate and improve the continuity between flight and ground operations in terms of displayed information and means of interaction, here after called Flight/Ground Continuity. In order to do so, a first A30X oriented step has been subjected to study, consisting in eliminating the discontinuity of displays between airport/approach and departure charts and the Airport Navigation Functions displayed on the Navigation Display, by merging the two sources of information. The study will start with an analysis of the activity and of the existing technology (State of the art), followed by a participatory design phase aiming at conceiving solutions to be implemented on a functional mock-up that will be tested by users at the end of the study, all of this being integrated in a user centered design approach. GIMENEZ Yannick ROCKWELL COLLINS FRANCE (France) Maître de Stage : AUDOUNET Laurent Impact of moving a regular avionics application to an IT tablet AOC(Airline Operational Control) is an avionics onboard application providing the cockpit crew with data exchange between Aircraft and the airline ground entities. Messages may range from operational aspects like flight operation, weather information, delays and maintenance data to pure administrative ones. Since AOC applications are displaying on the cockpit displays, they make use of the ARINC 661 standard which define HCI components and exchange messages for safety demonstration reasons. Since of the huge current trend to use iPads® and Android® tablets onboard Aircrafts, there is a need not only to move (non-critical) avionics application GUI onto those devices but also to match with their implicit interaction standards (e.g. swipe, multi-touch events). Thus, portage of AOC to tablet shall be thought of as a two-fold challenge: re-define AOC GUI to fit with tablet ergonomics standards, and implement the new GUI on a tablet. MARTINEZ-CUBERES Hector AEROCONSEIL (France) Maître de Stage : LE MESRE DE PAS Paul Design of HMI solution for airport surface alerts to cover noncompliance issues between ownship state and properties of the airport surface SESAR is a big collaborative European project that is intended to completely overhaul the European airspace and its Air Traffic Management. A research program is included in it. One of these research projects (9.14) concerns Airport Surface Alerts. In this internship I worked on the conception of HMI solutions to help pilots to be aware of the areas of the airport restricted to the ownship (either because they are closed either because they are not adapted to the ownship). Different kinds of alerts are used depending on the impact of the situation, going from advisory messages (or indications) to audio alerts.
