Unless otherwise decided by the diocese, this collection is to assist the Canadian
Catholic Organization for Development in carrying out its mandate. Development and
Peace contributes a small percentage of its collection to the Social Justice Fund of the
Canadian Conference of Bishops.
LA COLLECTE SPÉCIALE d'AUJOURDHUI
À moins d'être changé par le diocèse, cette collecte est pour aider l'Organisation
Catholique Canadienne pour le développement et la Paix qui appuie financièrement
des projets de développement et d'aide en Afrique, en Asie et en Amérique latine, et
sensibilise la population catholique du Canada aux questions internationales de
justice sociale.
THIRD SUNDAY OF EASTER
Today's gospel gives us yet another graphic account of an encounter between
Jesus and his apostles after his resurrection. It is as if he doesn't miss a chance to meet
them, so that they will have no doubt whatever that he is, indeed, risen from the dead.
Today we have another miracle, involving a catch of fish, we have the human touch of
Jesus, preparing breakfast for the apostles, and we have the healing of any scars Peter
may still have borne because of his earlier denial of Jesus.

3e DIMANCHE DE PÂQUES
Après une nuit de pêche sans succès, les apôtres se proposent d'abandonner
la partie. Ils accostent leur barques pour aller dormir un peu.
Mais quelqu'un intervient. Un inconnu leur suggère de jeter encore un dernier
coup de filet. Gens au cœur docile, ils relancent leur filet. Ils n'ont rien à perdre. Ils
obéissent à la voix d'un inconnu et découvrent une présence qu'ils ignoraient, Jésus.
C'est en lui obéissant qu'ils découvrent qui il est. Ils sont sûrs que c'est le
Maître et ils l'ont reconnu à sa manière prévenante. Le Maître est celui qui suggère les
bonnes choses, les gestes appropriés.
Les signes de sa présence ne sont pas toujours des pêches imprévues de 153
gros poissons. Ils sont, la plupart du temps, ordinaires, très discrets et très humbles,
comme le feu de grève allumé par Jésus, avec du pain qui attend les pêcheurs de la nuit.
C'est Saint Jean qui avertit les autres en criant : « C'est le Seigneur! » Les
grands amis se reconnaissent plus vite. Que j'apprenne à fréquenter Jésus plus souvent,
il deviendra un ami plus grand, que je vais bien vite reconnaître. «Quand un ami
traverse ma vie, ma vie se remet à vivre ».
