Connect syringe to catheter extension line according to your local protocol. 2. Install syringe in its cradle, the flanges correctly placed in the provided slot. 3. Turn the syringe barrel clasp into the closed position and move the syringe drive forward the syringe plunger head. Make sure that the end of plunger presses correctly on the plunger finger, and that the anti-siphon arm could comes down freely (see details below). Syringe clamp Syringe flanges groove Plunger Anti-siphon arm Plunger finger (black part) Disengagement lever IMPORTANT WARNING: Never press manually on the anti-siphon arm if it can’t come down freely, because there is a major risk to damage the syringe drive mechanism. If this damage occurs, the syringe pump could not detect anymore that the plunger is not correctly hold in, and the syringe could get empty out with gravity. If you have any doubt on the integrity of a DPS syringe pump mechanism, please, DON’T USE THE MODULE AND ASK YOUR TECHNICAL DEPARTMENT TO CHECK IT.
