Significance
The Native Indian is well known for his courage and
fighting qualities, and with the two tomahawks, a
traditional weapon, makes an appropriate device for a
fighter squadron.
Signification
L'autochtone peau-rouge du Canada est réputé pour
son courage et ses qualités de combattant. Les deux
tomahawks, ses armes traditionnelles, sont bien
représentatifs d'un escadron de chasseurs.

HISTORIQUE OPÉRATIONNEL
The Second World War
The squadron flew on fighter operations in Great
Britain, France, Belgium and the Netherlands under
'Fighter Command' and '2nd Tactical Air Force'. It
remained in Germany after the war with the 'British Air
Forces of Occupation (Germany)'.9
Seconde Guerre mondiale
L'escadron a volé des missions de chasseurs en
Grande-Bretagne, en France, en Belgique, aux
Pays-Bas et en Allemagne sous le « Fighter
Command » et la « 2nd Tactical Air Force ». Il est
demeuré en Allemagne après la guerre avec les
« British Air Forces of Occupation (Germany) ».9
