Thursday November 15
A blood-sucking
Thursday !
Get ready for a thrilling and frightning night : tonight is scary
Thursday ! Festivities will start at 6.30 pm at the Victor Ségalen
University’s Conference Hall where the Brest-based association
Art’s Not Dead (A.N.D.) will initiate their Walking Dead experiment.
For those interested, they will give you a free make-up !
• 8:00 pm : bloody zombies covered in rags and hanging flesh will
head toward the Quartz.
• 9:00 pm : in front of the Quartz, the jury will give free tickets to the scariest zombies.
• After a special zombie make-up session and a nice walk outside, it will be time for the Midnight Show ! Let the darkness
of the Quartz win you over and brace yourself for a blood-sucking night.
If you make it through, come join us at the Cabaret
Vauban for the « Nuit TeRRRible » organized in
partnership with the « Côte Ouest » association.
The « Cancres » crew will welcome you in the
depths of the Vauban to end up the night on the
dancefloor. Let the dancer that lies into you rise
and enjoy the music in a very cinematographic
atmosphere... BRRRAIIINS !!!
Braquages
In French slang, « braquage » means « armed hold-up ». There are
of course the « hold-up masters », such as anarchists or celebrated
gangsters of the early 20th century. Unfortunately, there are also
the dunces, the wannabe-thugs, the opportunists, as well as the
kids, the looneys and the outcasts. Let’s follow them through five
stories where blunders and suspense alternate slowly shifting the
plot from dream to nightmare.

Crossing
Borders#3
This year, the Crossing Borders program presents
seven films. In collaboration with the Alès
Festival « Itinérances » and introduced by the
« Agence du Court Métrage » (A.C.M.), these
films explore new cinematographic forms, mixing
various narrative techniques with a rich selection
of genres and stories. These films are real eyesopeners, introducing viewers to a new European
cinematographic horizon.
> Thu. 3.30 pm – Petit Théâtre
Estran
Picture of the Day
Launched in 2010, this is the fifth edition of the screenplay contest
« Estran ». The reading comittee that includes directors, producers
and other professionals, has selected five projects. One of them will
be presented before the « Braquages » program. Funny enough, it’s
Ronan Tronchot’s short entitled Novembre that has been selected.
To be continued...
The Festival’s French Sign Language interpreter
at the screening of Des Contes et des Couleurs.
The kids’ workshop « Découverte du cinéma
d’animation », to take place on Saturday, will be
translated in sign language, too.

This screening is all about revolts, deviances and counter-culture.
Afterwards, young people will be able to share their thoughts about
the films presented and discuss with Claudine Natkin, director of
the short film Petite Pute. In the afternoon, people working with
yougsters are invited to a discussion aiming at improving their
work practices and stimulating their introspection.

UNATC Screenings
and Round Table
Romania is the focus of the 27th edition of the Europe in Shorts
program. Eleven shorts are presented in two different screenings :
UNATC1 and UNATC2. The UNATC, which stands for Lon Luca
Caragiale National University for Theatre and Cinema, is located in
Bucarest, Romania. Quite a few directors come out from this school
which is also at the heart of several collaborative projects.
We invite you to discover this prestigious school during a round
table with producer Gabriela Suciu and director Victor Dragomir,
both former students of the school, as well as Olivia Horvath who
is in charge of communication for the Romanian Cultural Institute
of Paris.
> UNATC1 : Thu. 5:30 pm / Sun. 1:30 pm – Petit Théâtre
