Message from BAFF by Michele Helou Nahas cofounder of the festival.
“We have lived; we are destined to live perilously”
Michel Chiha (1891 – 1954), Lebanon Today.
At a certain period of our recent history during which our country was prosperous and radiant, Michel Chiha
prophesied that Lebanon's destiny is to live in permanent danger.
The BAFF is an expression of this poignant idea. But a reaction too, along with many others, namely that of
the Lebanese people full of good will facing the dangers and the challenges that we encounter in our daily
life, that threaten us and our families, but which above all threaten our Lebanese identity experienced
through peace and culture.
Long live culture, long live peace, long live our country!
