The Jewish Rehabilitation Hospital is dedicated to providing physical rehabilitation to people who have sustained a
serious health event such as an accident or a stroke. Our goal is to help our patients achieve their maximum
independence and return to their lives with dignity.




Your donation will help:
Purchase the equipment needed to help our patients develop their abilities, such as wheelchairs and
physical therapy equipment.
Provide our rehabilitation specialists with the required tools to work with our patients to enable them to
regain their autonomy.
Advance research in the field of rehabilitation science.
Recruit and retain internationally recognized researchers and specialists.
Some Programs at the Jewish Rehabilitation Hospital
Paediatric Program
The paediatric program at the Jewish Rehabilitation Hospital is dedicated to the rehabilitation of children with
physical deficits. The objectives of the paediatric program are to offer specialized rehabilitation services in order to
improve functional independence and optimize every child’s potential for social participation. The paediatric
rehabilitation services at the Jewish Rehabilitation Hospital are offered on an ambulatory basis and specifically
address children with a language or motor deficit.
Oncology Program
The goal of the Oncology Program is to help the individual maximize their level of physical, emotional, social and
spiritual independence and to improve their quality of life while taking into account their limitations due to a cancer
diagnosis. Rehabilitation services are directed to reducing the effects of cancer such as fatigue, weakness, reduced
mobility and respiratory function. The therapeutic interventions help individuals with permanent disabilities due to
their cancer or its treatment regain their functional autonomy as quickly as possible through the use of compensatory
strategies, technical aids and community resources.
Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Program
The goal of the TBI program is to minimize the disabilities that can result from a TBI on life habits. The program’s
objective is to ensure the individuals participate in their life habits with the highest level of independence and security
in the areas of self care, residential accommodations, education, employment and recreation.
Geriatric Program
The goal for the Geriatric program is to provide health care services for older individuals with a disease or impairment
that has resulted in a loss of autonomy following a period of immobility or illness. The geriatric program is designed
to address the specific goals of each individual and family with the objective of developing an appropriate discharge
plan that will promote health, safety and their quality of life.
Research
At the Jewish Rehabilitation Hospital, research is an integral part of our clinical activities. The result is that the
discovery of new knowledge and techniques can be applied as soon as possible in order to improve the care and
services we provide to our patients. Research is central to the achievement of the Jewish Rehabilitation Hospital’s
vision to advance rehabilitation and enhance quality of life. As a fully affiliated teaching hospital with McGill
University with a principle focus in rehabilitation, the JRH has an obligation to develop new evidence-based
knowledge and practice to benefit the individuals we serve, and to enhance learning opportunities for the health care
professionals of tomorrow.
