Background:

Founded Right Start International Organization UK.

Founded Life Makers Organization in 2004, a platform from which hundreds of advocacy &
development campaigns were launched & succeeded to attract hundreds of thousands of youth
volunteers in the areas of literacy, health awareness & co-existence. Life Makers main slogan is
“Development through Faith”.

Head of Misr (Egypt) Political Party which is the first mass political party centered on
development.

Received numerous awards from Kings, Heads of States & International Organizations &
Institutions, of which he was selected one of the 50 most influential people in the world by
Newsweek International in 2008. He was also on the Time’s (Magazine) prestigious list of the
“100 Most Influential People in the World” in 2007. Foreign Policy magazine chose him as the
sixth most popular thinker in the world in 2008. He was awarded “Man of the Year” in 2012 by
the Arab League in the field of volunteer work.


Public & Reform Efforts:

Through Life Makers Organization, Dr. Amr Khaled launched a number of national
developmental initiatives with huge success, of which:
-“El Elm Qowah” (translated: Literacy is Power) initiative aiming at eradicating illiteracy in
Egypt. In 2012, 120,000 illiterate males/females are enrolled in the program.
-“Ewa’a” (translated: Dare) initiative which raised awareness against the dangers of drug
abuse.
-“Ensan” (translated: Human) initiative which raised awareness against the drawbacks of
school dropout.

Prepared & presented a number of public lectures which attracted 35,000 attendees between
the years 2000 & 2002 in Egypt, the Arab & Western Worlds.

In the partnership of global organizations, Dr. Amr Khaled launched “Homat Al-Mustaqbal”
(translated: Future Guardians) initiative which raises awareness for the dangers of smoking &
drug abuse.

In a time span of 11 years (2001-2012), Dr. Amr Khaled presented 19 TV & Radio programs (almost 640
episodes), all were aired on major Arab & Egyptian satellite TV channels, and each program was able to

Partnerships & Agreements (Domestic, Arab & International):

Signed protocols of cooperation with a number of ministries and government institutions
(Ministry of Education and the General Authority for Adult Education) to launch literacy
campaigns in various parts of Egypt 2011/2012. First year target of 120,000 participants,
doubling in following years.

Signed protocols of cooperation with the Cabinet, Ministry of Education, Anti-addiction Council
Fund, & National Youth Council to launch “Ewa’a” (translated: Dare) initiative to raise awareness
against the dangers of drugs 2011-2012.

Signed a partnership agreement between Right Start Foundation, Dubai Police Department &
UN regional office to prepare youth volunteers to raise awareness on the dangers of smoking,
drugs & alcohol in schools & universities in the Arab World (April 2005).

Signed a memorandum of understanding with the Regional Office of the WHO, Iqra’a satellite
channel, & online health forums, the agreement aims to spread the culture of health among
youth and encourage healthy lifestyles through the identification of areas that are consistent
with the public health agenda in countries of the WHO.
