Report on Small Grants and IT Donations (2013)
The EIB Institute (EIBI) aims at promoting local philanthropy by channeling support,
mainly through grants for eligible initiatives or donations of IT equipment that is no longer
used by the EIB Group, to non-profit organisations, local community centres or schools.
In 2013, the Institute approved 31 grants, equating to a total of around EUR 74 750, for
the benefit of 29 different organisations.
The 2013 budget was EUR 75 000, which means that the EIBI committed virtually in full
the budget available for the year.

Moreover, the Institute donated almost 1 500 desktops, laptops, printers and other IT
equipment to 58 schools and non-profit organisations (see pages 4 and 5):

In total 821 desktop PCs and 565 laptops, corresponding to a total of 58 requests were
donated in 2013, to beneficiaries located in France (34%), Belgium (19%), Slovakia
(16%) Luxembourg (9%), Bulgaria (5%), Hungary, Romania, Germany (3% each),
Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Australia and the United States (2% each).
