Immersion courses: Learning French in France
Primary and secondary teachers teaching French in Scotland can benefit from the new Erasmus Plus
programme to attend an immersion course in France.
In order to get the Erasmus plus funding, you must register your school and get a 9-digit PIC (Participant Identification Code)
number. This number will be used as a reference by the European Commission in all your Erasmus+ funding application requests.
A single registration is required for each school. Your PIC number is then valid till 2020 : http://www.erasmusplus.org.uk/how-toapply
Online applications will have to be sent by schools by 17 March.
There is a large number of accredited organisations which offer immersion courses in France.
Watch the label “Qualité FLE Français langue étrangère” which is delivered by the French
Ministry of Higher Education to ensure that the organisations offers high quality.
The courses marked with * are for teachers to learn and enhance their knowledge of French.
These courses focussed on learning of French in a structured way to enable participants to feel
confident and communicate in French in the everyday life. It is recommended to stay in a French
family for a full immersion.
The other courses are focussed on classroom practice and are all conducted in French.
