Synopsis
Avez-vous déjà commis des actes dont vous craignez, un jour, d'avoir à en payer le
prix? Pascal, photographe, est l'un de ceux-là. Piégé par son passé, muselé par le
désir, il revoit son existence à travers une sorte de chambre noire, métaphore de sa
conscience, à mi-chemin entre le rêve et la réalité.
Have you ever done something that made you fear you’ll get what you deserve ?
Bound by guilt, silenced by desire, Pascal (a photographer) is frozen in the past.
Suspended from reality, he creates, in the dark room of his mind, the karmic
retribution of his past.

BIOGRAPHY:
François Aubry, Director
Blessed with good fortune, Aubry entered early into the world of film and animation
through the big door at the National Film Board of Canada. As a select pupil of Sidney
Goldsmith he was trained in the most highly sophisticated techniques of the time, by the
founders of animation as we know it today. After 10 bright years of uninterrupted work at
the Board, and after signing 4 productions as director, writer and animator, and 16 more
as animator and Visual Effects Supervisor, Aubry left the Board to take on even broader
horizons. Moving quickly to the front of his field, he began winning international
contracts including Visual Effects Supervisor for Highlander III, and collaborating with
directors like Atom Egoyan, Patricia Rosema, Denys Arcand and Robert Lepage.
During the past year, he was Director & DOP for ten out of thirteen, half-hour Television
Documentaries on social issues around the globe, called ‘Convictions.’
A master of the digital realm, he has also taught Visual effects, Film and Cinematography
at the college and university level across Canada and beyond.
François Aubry was born in Ottawa, raised in Montreal where he learned film at the
College of Saint-Laurent and is now living in Toronto where he has recently completed
post-production of his first full-length, feature fiction film, ‘The Dark Room’.
