Historique
Deux porte-parole, soit Caitlin Tolley de Kitigan Zibi et Stacy Bossum de Mashteuiatsh, ont été sélectionnés en 2009

par un comité formé par l’APNQL pour un mandat de 2 ans, de juillet 2009 à août 2011. À la suite du 1 Forum
jeunesse des Premières Nations qui a eu lieu en août 2011, deux porte-parole ont été élus (Caitlin Tolley – Kitigan Zibi
et Langis Fortin – Matimekush / Lac-John) ainsi que deux substituts (Suzie O’Bomsawin – Odanak et Tommy

Awashish - Wemotaci). Monsieur Réal Junior Leblanc (Uashat mak Mani-Utenam) a été élu lors du 2 Forum jeunesse
des Premières Nations (août 2012) à la suite du départ de M. Langis Fortin en juin 2012.
Six rôles ont été identifiés pour les porte-parole et substituts qui ont été élus pour un mandat de deux ans (août 2011
à août 2013) :

Agir à titre de porte-parole (ambassadeur) du Réseau jeunesse des Premières Nations (RJPN);
Siéger sur le Conseil national des jeunes de l’Assemblée des Premières Nations (APN);
Participer aux assemblées des chefs de l’Assemblée des Premières Nations du Québec et du Labrador (APNQL);

Participer au comité de planification et aux activités du Forum jeunesse des Premières Nations (3 édition en
2013);
Appuyer le coordonnateur régional jeunesse de l’APNQL dans différentes initiatives;
Encourager l’implication communautaire des jeunes des Premières Nations.

Background
Two spokespersons, namely Caitlin Tolley from Kitigan Zibi and Stacy Bossum from Mashteuiatsh, were selected in
2009 by a committee formed by the AFNQL for a mandate of two years, from July 2009 to August 2011. Following the

1 First Nations Youth Forum that was held in August 2011, two spokespersons where elected (Caitlin Tolley – Kitigan
Zibi and Langis Fortin – Matimekush / Lac-John) and two substitutes (Suzie O’Bomsawin – Odanak and Tommy

Awashish – Wemotaci). Mister Real Junior Leblanc (Uashat mak Mani-Utenam) was elected during the 2 First
Nations Youth Forum (August 2012) after the departure of Mister Langis Fortin in June 2012.
Six roles where identified for the spokespersons and substitutes who were elected for a two year mandate (August
2011 to August 2013):

Act as the spokepersons (ambassador) of the First Nations Youth Network (FNYN);
Sit at the National Youth Council of the Assembly of the First Nations (AFN);
Participate in the Chiefs Assembly of the First Nations of Quebec and Labrador (AFNQL);

Participate in the planning committee and the activities of the First Nations Youth Forum (3 edition in 2013);
Support the regional youth coordinator of the AFNQL in different initiatives;
Encourage community involvement among the First Nations Youth.
