Fabrice Ausset, Architect
Architect and interior designer Fabrice Ausset creates settings that are both scintillating
and surprising, with a vision that is fresh, new and entirely his own. Ausset is master of
many mediums ranging from painting, architecture, design, to literature and gastronomy.
His passion for contemporary art, and use of historical and cultural references from faraway places serve as inspiration for his spirited aesthetic.
Each project is meant to tell its own singular, fanciful story. An enlightened collector
and indefatigable seeker, he juxtaposes such unique pieces as a whimsical desk from
metal- worker André Dubreuil, the totems Odalisca and Burma by Ettore Sottsass, and
the furniture of American designer George Nelson. Ausset is as rigorous as he is
imaginative, overseeing every detail of the design process.
Ausset also likes to test young and up-and-coming talents. Born into the tradition of
exquisite French craftsmanship, he marries contemporary with antique, austerity with
opulence, the baroque with sobriety.
First trained as an artist, and later as an architect, DPLG, Fabrice Ausset quite naturally
gravitated to the world of interior design, where he expresses his unpredictable
creativity with widely diverse and atypical projects: a castle renovation, designs for
luxury apartments, grand hotels, concept boutiques, and expositions for well-known
brands.
