OAS Secretary General to bestow TD Hispanic awards in Toronto

October 24, 2016 - The Secretary General of the Organization of American States, His Excellency Luis
Almagro Lemes will present the awards at TD Bank
evening of Thursday, December 15 in downtown Toronto. Only 200 tickets are available with another
100 reserved for previous awardees and diplomats. This 10th anniversary of the awards was
launched in April with $110,000 in financial awards for Hispanic/Latino students at Ryerson University;
The OAS brings together all 35 independent states of the Americas and constitutes the main political,
juridical, and social governmental forum in the Hemisphere. In addition, it has granted permanent
observer status to 69 states as well as to the European Union.
