ON KAWARA DATE PAINTINGS VON 1966−1989 Der 1932 in Aichi-ken geborene ja- panische Künstler On Kawara lebt und arbeitet seit 1965 in New York. JULI 1976 in Berlin.) (Häufig findet man dabei kosmonautische Schlagzeilen. The frieze-like arrangement of the paintings in this room gives to a con- templative experience of looking and reflecting. Painting follows painting, date follows date. The painting and the day are equated, and represent the materialisation of time - the created work enables us to grasp this in real terms.
