Currency conversion Romania
• The situation at present
The Republic of Romania will change its currency from ROL (Romanian Leu) to RON (Romanian Leu New) at a
ratio of ROL 10,000 : RON 1, with effect from 1 July 2005.
Without action by issuers, securities will also be converted with effect from 1 July 2005.
Bonds: The quotation size (smallest tradable unit) will be changed at a ratio of ROL 10,000 : RON 1, with effect
from 1 July 2005.
Shares: With effect from 1 July 2005, the quotation size (smallest tradable unit) will refer to 1 share with its
nominal value changed at a ratio ROL 10,000 : RON 1.
The ISINs and WKNs of the securities affected by the conversion will not be changed.
At present, we maintain data on approximately 160 Romanian securities in our database.

Data on these securities will be adjusted as follows:
1.) Data record for adjustments within custody accounts
A data record within Segment U (Conversions, exchanges, etc.) will be provided for adjustments within
custody accounts.
2.) Adjustment of master data
3.) Adjustment of trade relevant data
Simultaneously to the data record set forth above, the currency fields in Segments G and OHC will be adjusted
accordingly, with effect from 1 July 2005.
4.) Adjustment of data records not yet due within corporate action Segments:
The data records in Segments E, U, K, etc. payable as of 1 July 2005 will be adjusted accordingly.

The data and information will be delivered as per mid June 2005 within our regular daily service, with effective
date 1 July 2005. In parallel, corresponding notes (see Implementation, 1.), paragraph D) will be published for
