Delivering the Goods - Forum @ Kanada Haus Berlin
“Delivering the Goods”
German-Canadian Logistics and Infrastructure for Enhanced Transatlantic Trade
Embassy of Canada, Leipziger Platz 17, 10117 Berlin
May 19, 2015, 09:00 - 14:00
On May 19, 2015, the Deutsch-Kanadische Gesellschaft e.V. will hold its annual interdisciplinary conference
“Forum @ Kanada Haus“, in cooperation with the Embassy of Canada in Berlin.
This is the sixth time that the Forum is taking place, inviting participants to draw inspiration from transatlantic
comparisons. This year’s conference will examine the essential real-life and real-time business and investment
decisions that will determine whether the full potential of transatlantic trade will be realized quickly. Are Canada
and Germany ready and able to “deliver the goods” under CETA (Canada - EU Comprehensive Economic and
Trade Agreement)?
We look forward to hearing high-level speakers from the logistics and infrastructure sectors. Introductory keynote
lectures by Wendy Zatylny, President of the Association of Canadian Port Authorities, Carsten Wirths, Vice
President Europe & Africa of Lufthansa Cargo AG, and Daniel Kelly, President, CEO and Chair of the Canadian
Federation of Independent Business (CFIB), will highlight the issue from different perspectives and outline
possible starting points for German-Canadian cooperation.
In the following panel, private sector experts will focus on challenges and opportunities for particular subsectors
of this business branch. Insights will be shared, among others, by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Stefan Walter, Founder of the
House of Logistics and Mobility Frankfurt / Main, as well as representatives of Bombardier Transportation Canada
and Kuehne + Nagel AG.
This programme will be highly relevant to those interested in the mechanics of transatlantic trade, either from a
policy, research or professional perspective.
The “Forum @ Kanada Haus” will be held in English. Pre-registration required.
