EFFECTIVE POOLING.
THE ACTUAL CONSOLIDATION OF
AVAILABLE LIQUIDITY.
What does “Effective Pooling” mean?
With this financial service, available liquidity can be
concentrated into a single account, the Pooling Account. Debit and credit balances shown on the participating accounts are consolidated so that only a
positive or negative balance remains on the Pooling
Account.
What are the major advantages of this product?
– More attractive net interest position due to the
accumulation of balances in one account.
– Minimization of debit balances.
– Better overall view of the company’s/company
group’s available liquid assets.
– Outsourcing of the pooling service to the bank.
Which companies benefit most from this
product?
This service is especially advantageous for a company/company group whose daily debit and credit
balances are distributed among various accounts
maintained in the same currency.
Which parameters may be implemented to individually control the pooling process?
– Selectable target amount.
– Individual transaction minimums/maximums.
– Balance skimming and/or coverage.
– Transfer of previous value date balances.
– Transfer of current value date balances.
– Transfer of all value date balances.
– Special transaction text shown in the account
statements.
What should be noted?
When starting with pooling, the local legal requirements and infrastructures have to be considered. In
general, the following points are to be considered:
– Tax law regulation aspects (i.e. “arm’s length principle“, interest deductibility, loan agreement
charges, etc.) have to be checked.
– Country-specific requirements regarding National
Bank reporting.
– As interest incurs on the Pooling Account only, a
distribution amongst the participating accounts
has to take place.
– Since this administrative procedure involves additional work, a pooling solution is only useful if the
expected interest saving yield is higher than the
additional administrative expenses.
What kind of reporting is available?
Detailed reports (containing value date balances,
margin factors, etc.) on all participating accounts, that
allow for an exact assessment of the earnings potential out of Margin Pooling.
What kind of auxiliary services are available?
– Monitoring of overdraft limits.
– Trustee Interest Calculation: As prescribed by law,
the total interest revenue has to be distributed to
the pooling participants in line with prevailing market conditions (“arm’s length principle”). By implementing the added-value service Trustee Interest Calculation (please refer to the relevant product information) this task can be outsourced to
Bank Austria. Based on individually defined interest rates, Bank Austria effects the interest calculation and distribution to the participating accounts.
