Wartungshinweis
Das Lüftungs- und Leichtschaumlösch-Gerät ist ein
Produkt, von dem Leben und Gesundheit abhängen
können!
• Dieses Produkt ist regelmäßig durch ausgebildete
Spezialisten zu kontrollieren und zu warten. Über
die Inspektionen und Wartungen ist Protokoll
zu führen. Bei Instandsetzungsarbeiten sind ausschließlich Originalersatzteile von MSA AUER zu
verwenden. Instandsetzungen und Wartungen dürfen ausschließlich von berechtigten Werkstätten
oder MSA AUER durchgeführt werden. Die berechtigten Werkstätten sind für die Beschaffung der
gültigen technischen Informationen über Geräte,
Bauteile und Wartungsrichtlinien verantwortlich.
Veränderungen an Geräten oder Komponenten sind
nicht zulässig und verletzen die Zulassungen.
• Diese Anleitung muß von allen Personen, die über
die Verwendung dieses Produktes entscheiden, die
es bedienen, es pflegen und warten oder seine
Funktionstüchtigkeit kontrollieren, gründlich und
aufmerksam gelesen, beachtet und verstanden
werden.
• Neben Anweisungen für die bestimmungsgemäße
Verwendung des Produktes enthält diese Gebrauchsanweisung wichtige Hinweise zur Verhütung von Gefahren (§ 3, Abs. 3, Gesetz über technische Arbeitsmittel).
• Bevor das Produkt eingesetzt wird, müssen die
Verwender unter Beachtung dieser Anleitung entscheiden, ob es für die beabsichtigte Verwendung
geeignet ist.

Gerätebeschreibung
Das MSA AUER Lüftungs- und Leichtschaumgerät
besteht aus der Grundeinheit (Lüftungsteil) und
dem Zubehör (z.B. Wasserteil, Lutten, Schellen).
Mit wenigen Handgriffen lassen sich die Zubehörteile
an die Grundeinheit anschließen. So ist der wahlweise Einsatz als Lüftungsgerät oder als Leichtschaumgerät möglich.

Reizungen der Augen durch Berührung mit

beheben.
Bedienungshinweise
6.1 Lüftungsgerät
1. Gerät am Einsatzort aufstellen; ggf. Spirallutte (n);
je nach Bedarf an Saug- oder Druckseite;
am Gerät anflanschen
2. Kunststofflutte jedoch nur auf der Druckseite
verwenden
Achtung: Diese Lutte nur zum Ansaugen von
nichtexplosiven Gasen und Dämpfen verwenden!
3. Gerät elektrisch anschließen und einschalten
4. Es ist zweckmäßig, während des Betriebes die
Kunststofflutte zu fixieren, um eine Knickbildung
und damit einen unnötigen Luftwiderstand zu
vermeiden.
Bei explosiven Gasen oder Dämpfen sind die
Angaben unter Punkt 5 „Einsatzbereiche“ zu
beachten.
7
Wartung und Pflege
7.1 Lüftungsgerät
Nach dem Einsatz als Lüftungsgerät ist eine spezielle Wartung und Pflege nicht notwendig.
Nur Spirallutte abflanschen; das Gerät bleibt
montiert.
Spülen:
Ansaugstab in Wasserbehälter tauchen; Ventilator einschalten; Wasserabsperrhahn öffnen;
Regulierschraube bis zum Anschlag öffnen; ca.
1 min. spülen (Abb. A)

8. Schaummittelkanister öffnen und Ansaugstab
eintauchen
9. Gerät einschalten
10. Wasserabsperrhahn öffnen; Handhebel waagerecht
11. Leichtschaum-Ausbeute am Zumischer unter
Beobachtung des Schaumflusses regulieren.
Achtung: Vor Betätigung der Zumischerspindel
den Raststift lösen! Durch Drehen der Spindel
gegen den Uhrzeigersinn (links) wird die Zumischung von Schaummittel und damit die Leichtschaumerzeugung des Gerätes erhöht. Durch
weiteres Öffnen der Spindel steigt nur der
Schaummittelverbrauch; mehr und besserer
Schaum wird nicht erzeugt.
12. Ende der Leichtschaumerzeugung: Ansaugstab
aus dem Vorratskanister nehmen und ca. 5 sec.
zum Leerlaufen hochhalten.
13. Wasserzufuhr abstellen, Ventilator abschalten.
Vorsicht: Schaummittel sowie Schaummittellösungen dürfen nicht in die Augen kommen.

Maintenance Advice
The Ventilator and High Expansion Foam Generator is
a product supporting life and health!
• This product must be inspected and maintained in
regular intervals by trained specialists, records are
to be kept. For service and repairs, only original
MSA spare must be used. Inspections and maintenance must be made exclusively by authorised
service shops or MSA directly. The authorised
service shops are responsible for the sourcing and
procurement of valid technical information for the
product, components thereof and maintenance
instructions. Modifications to the product or components thereof are not permissible and violate the
approvals.
• This manual must be carefully read, understood
and followed by all individuals who have or will have
the responsibility for selecting, using, servicing or
maintaining this product.
• This manual contains instructions for the optimal
use of the product as well as important safety information.
• Before use, the acting persons have to decide in
accordance with this manual, whether the product
is suitable for the intended application.
Liability Information
• The liability of MSA is excluded if the product is not
used appropriately and for the intended purpose.
Choice and use are in the sole responsibility of the
acting persons.
• Warranties also as guarantees made by MSA with
respect to the product are voided, if it is not used,
serviced or maintained in accordance with the

Description
The MSA AUER COMVEX consists of a basic (ventilator) and its necessary accessory fittings (e.g. foam
generating kit, tubing, clamps).
The simple connection of these attachments to the
basic unit facilitates the rapid change of application
from ventilator to foam generator or vice versa.

5.2 Foam Generator
The ventilator can be converted into the foam generator with rapid ease (cf. paragraph on accessories)
Application
The extinguishing of fires (categories A and B) in
enclosed spaces and wind-shelted areas.
6
Operating Instructions
6.1 Ventilator
1. Place equipment in operating position; connect
spiral reinforced duct to coupling flange either on
intake or output side, as operation requires.
2. Use, however, plastic duct (D 6105003) on the
output side only.
Caution: This plastic duct should not be used
for explosive gases and vapours.
3. Connect equipment to power supply and switch
on.
4. During operation it is advisable to fasten the
plastic duct securely to avoid bending it and any
unnecessary subsequent air-resistance.
When explosive gases or vapours are to be
removed, the directions under section 5
“Areas of application” must be strictly observed.
7
Service and Maintenance
7.1 Ventilator
No special service or maintenance is required
after use of the ventilator.
7.2 Foam Generator
Only the spiral duct needs to be removed from
the coupling flange; the apparatus should remained assembled.
Rinsing:
Insert suction rod into water tank; connect fan;
open stop cock; loosen the adjustment screw
fully; rinse for approx. 1 minute (diagram A)

6.2 Foam Generator
Drying:
Close stop cock; uncouple hose C; fasten suction rod to mounting on the mixing chamber; tilt
apparatus (diagram B) – residual water drains off
through pipes and nozzles; return apparatus to
normal position (diagram C) and dry with fan;
turn off.

1. Place ventilator (foam section) in operating position (check output direction on type plate).
2. Connect foam generating kit to output side of
ventilator. Push arresting pin securely into the
mixing chamber.
3. Attach approx. 0,5 m plastic duct (D 6105003) to
foam generating kit and secure with connecting
clip (D 6105015).
4. Switch on, or prepare motor for use, depending
on model.
5. Rinse clean water delivery pipe (and hydrant if
dirty).
6. Connect water delivery pipe to foam generating
kit (C-coupling). Close water stop-cock (hand
lever should be vertical).
7. Pressurize water delivery pipe (required water
pressure: minimum 2 kp/cm2, maximum 7 kp/cm2).
8. Open liquid foam canister and insert suction rod.
9. Switch on.
10. Open water stop-cock; hand lever should be
horizontal.
11. Regulate the volume of foam generated by adjusting the screw on the mixer. Attention: Before
turning the screw loose the catenpin. Turn anticlockwise (to the left) to increase the mixture of
liquid foam and hence the volume of high-expansion foam produced to the maximum output level
of the apparatus; by turning the screw further the
consumption of the liquid foam will be increased,
but the volume of expanded foam will neither be
augmented nor improved in quality.
12. Once operation has been completed, remove
suction rod from liquid foam canister and hold up
for approx. 5 sec. to allow the liquid to drain off.
13. Turn off water supply and switch off ventilator.
Caution: Keep liquid and expanded foam
away from face and eyes. Wash eyes in clear
water immediately, should they come into
contact with foam in either form.

Cleaning:
The mixing chamber: slacken the upper hexagon
socket screw with a suitable 5 mm key; completely remove the metering screw; dry; check
cone and seal (scratches, chips, etc.); dry the
metering screw bore hole.
Unscrew the foam concentrate connection
pieces with a SW 30-open-jawed spanner; dry
bearing and bore hole; check/replace (when
necessary) the conical nipple (cf. section 3 “Construction of the mixing chamber”). Use silicon
grease.
Reassembly:
Reverse of above.
Life components:
If the machine is wet after washing, all life components should be examined/dried in case of
further moisture penetration.
