Gitarrist Joachim Nordlund formierte sich im Jahre 2002 mit drummer
Johan Lindstedt, um zusammen eine neue Band in der Manier von
Rainbow, Dio, Sabbath und Deep Purple zu gründen. Astral Doors waren
geboren!
Später gesellten sich Nils Patrik Johansson am Gesang, Jocke Roberg an
den Keys und Martin Haglund von der Band „Universal Puppies“ am
Bass, zur Band.
2003 wurde Martin als zweiter Gitarrist verpflichtet um einen
ausgeprägteren Sound zu erreichen. In Folge dessen begrüßte man Mika
Itaranta als neuestes Mitglied am Bass.
Mit dem Debutalbum „Of the Son and the Father“ erreichten Astral
Doors immense Aufmerksamkeit seitens der Presse und Medien, gefolgt
von großartigen Kritiken, sowie zahlreichen Festivalanfragen. Die Band
