In kindergarten Tim Stani drew grid models and
made buildings from them.
Im Kindergarten zeichnete Tim Stani am liebsten
Gitternetzmodelle und bastelte daraus Häuser.
In high school he created Lego-cities and took
photos to show his grandparents.
Im Volksschulalter baute er selbst geplante LegoStädte und photographierte sie für Oma & Opa.
Even then, a pocket camera was not enough to
satisfy him ...
Schon damals war eine Schnappschuss-Kamera
nicht genug ...
Tim Stani is fascinated by cities and the changes they
go through. He has an eye for the transient spaces
which evolve between demolition and reconstruction.
His pictures are contemporary documents, revealing
perspectives that only exist for a short period of time.
Tim Stani ist fasziniert von Städten und deren Veränderung. Er hat das Auge für die interessanten
Baulücken. Seine Bilder sind Zeitdokumente.
Mit Ausblicken, die nur wenige Tage möglich sind.
Und dann wieder verbaut werden.
Photography as an art project with documentary
standards: How does each construction site change
its surroundings? Which lines of sight are discovered
throughout the construction? What is the view like
once the new building is finished?
Photographie als Kunstprojekt mit dokumentarischen
Ansprüchen: Wie wirkt sich die Baulücke auf die
Umgebung aus? Welche neuen Sichtachsen entstehen während des Baufortschritts? Wie ist die
Aussicht vom neu entstehenden Gebäude?
At times, this fascination can be dangerous. Tim
Stani climbs construction sites of every height. He
regards his safety as second priority, his motto: doing
whatever it takes for a unique view of the city.
Diese Faszination ist nicht ganz ungefährlich. Tim
Stani erklettert Baustellen jeglicher Höhe. Seine
Sicherheit ist zweitrangig, sein Motto: alles für den
einzigartigen Ausblick auf die Stadt.
And he prefers to capture these moments during
twilight. The combination with the glaring colors of
the city’s artificial lighting generates an extraordinary atmosphere.
Und diesen Moment hält er am liebsten im Licht
der Dämmerung fest. Kombiniert mit den grellen
Farben der künstlichen Beleuchtung entstehen
eindrucksvolle Lichtstimmungen.
Tim Stani is a perfectionist: following a careful previsualization and planning process he arranges numerous single shots. To obtain a perfect end result,
they have to fit exactly over each other and merge
into each other.
Tim Stani ist Perfektionist: In seinen Gedanken fügt
er zahlreiche Einzelbilder zusammen und photographiert diese erst nach sorgfältiger Planung. Denn
sie müssen exakt übereinander passen und nahtlos
ineinander übergehen.
Due to the long exposure times, up to 30 minutes
may lie between the first and the last single shot of
a 360 degree panorama. As a result, one can literally see time passing by on the finished panorama
photograph.
Bei einem 360-Grad-Panorama liegen aufgrund der
langen Belichtungszeiten bis zu 30 Minuten zwischen
dem ersten und dem letzten Einzelbild. Daher sieht
man bei der fertigen Panorama-Photographie sprichwörtlich die Zeit vergehen.
Construction sites are an opportunity for Tim Stani
to document change. He shows the process of demolition – normally, a part nobody is interested in –
and the development of a new building from his
unique point of view.
Baustellen sind für Tim Stani die Gelegenheit, Veränderung zu dokumentieren. Er zeigt den Prozess
der Abrissarbeiten – für den sich normalerweise
niemand interessiert – und der Entstehung eines
neuen Gebäudes von der schönsten Seite.
