Terry supervise également iEmergence et My People
International. En plus d'avoir fait du travail de base
auprès des autochtones dans le contexte nord-américain
et mondial depuis 35 ans, Terry a enseigné dans divers
collèges, séminaires et universités. Engagé dans
l'éducation chrétienne des Autochtones, il est aussi
membre adjoint de la faculté du Asbury Theological
Seminary, de la George Fox University, du Evangelical
Seminary, de la North Park University et du Tyndale
University College and Seminary. Auteur de nombreux
articles, d'exposés théologiques et de qauelques chapitres
de livres, Terry a gagné plusieurs prix pour ses écrits
variés. En juin 2010, pour la fondation de NAITTS, il est
devenu le 28e lauréat du prix Dr E. H. Jonhson Memorial
en innovation missionnaire.
Founding Chair and Director of the North American
Institute for Indigenous Theological Studies (NAIITS),
Terry also oversees iEmergence and My People
International. In addition to 35 years of grassroots work in
the Native North American and global indigenous context,
Terry has taught at various colleges, seminaries and
universities. Reflecting his commitment to Indigenous
Christian education, he also serves as an adjunct faculty
member at Asbury Theological Seminary, George Fox
University and Evangelical Seminary, North Park University
and Tyndale University College and Seminary. Author of
numerous articles, theological papers and several book
chapters, Terry has won several awards for his varied
writings. In June 2010, for his work on the creation of
NAIITS, he became the 28th recipient of the Dr. E.H.
Johnson Memorial Award for Innovation in Mission.

and speaker on Quebec First Nations context and culture.
“There is no duality between spiritual and daily life. It is
all a question of relationship and reconciliation. First
with our Creator through Jesus Christ who opens the
door to human reconciliations, to authentic and right relationships. There are misconceptions on the history and
Native culture that have brought on prejudice and conflicts. It is that much more important to let some facts
known that were intentionally hidden. Understanding
the others reality is the cornerstone to reconciliation”.

Cette conférence est une introduction à la
culture autochtone, ainsi qu’aux réalités et aux
enjeux des Premières Nations. Les conférenciers
brosseront un tableau général de l’histoire de
l’Amérique du Nord en espérant créer en chaque
participant un désir d’en apprendre davantage
sur le sujet et de regarder au delà de sa propre
perspective. En explorant le passé, nous
pouvons comprendre le présent et ainsi
commencer à batir des ponts entre Autochtones,
Francophones et Anglophones.
This conference is an introduction to Native
culture and to the present-day realities lived by
First Nations. Speakers will draw a general
portrait of the history in North America and
hopefully create a desire to see beyond each
person`s worldview and learn more. By looking
into the past, we may better understand the
present and build bridges between the three
peoples—First Nations, French and English.

toward helping Native people understand issues
affecting Christian life and well-being, encouraging men
toward vulnerability and openness, and mentoring

Un des fondateurs de l’ORA, Marc a travaillé pour le
Service correctionnel du Canada où il a acquis une
solide
expérience
comme
intervenant
et
accompagnateur en relation d’aide, spécialisé dans le
contexte autochtone. Il est aussi formateur et
conférencier sur le contexte et la culture des
Premières Nations au Québec. « Il n’existe aucune
dualité entre la vie spirituelle et la vie physique. Tout
est une question de relation et de réconciliation, tout
d’abord avec notre Créateur par Jésus-Christ qui
ouvre le chemin aux réconciliations et aux relations
authentiques. Une méconnaissance généralisée de
l’histoire et de la culture autochtone a inévitablement
mené à des préjugés et à des conflits. C’est pourquoi
il est primordial de faire connaître certains faits qui
ont été soigneusement cachés. Comprendre la vérité
de l’autre est la pierre angulaire de la réconciliation. »
