E Rescued from dereliction, Benjamin Franklin’s
only surviving residence, located in the heart of
London, opened for the first time in January 2006
as a dynamic museum and educational facility.
Franklin, Founding Father of the United States,
renowned scientist and ingenious inventor, called
this small, elegant building home for nearly 16
years between 1757 and 1775. The main offering
is the Historical Experience employing live
interpretation and leading edge sound, lighting
and visual projection to tell Franklin’s rich London
story in his own words (particularly his efforts
to keep Britain and America together under
the Crown).

F Sauvée de la démolition, la seule résidence
restante de Benjamin Franklin se trouve au cœur
de Londres et a ouvert ses portes pour la première
fois en janvier 2006 à titre de musée dynamique
et d’espace éducatif. Franklin, père fondateur des
États-Unis, scientifique de renom et inventeur de
génie a vécu dans cet élégant bâtiment pendant
près de 16 ans entre 1757 et 1775. L’attraction
principale est une expérience historique employant
des interprètes et un spectacle de projection
audiovisuel très sophistiqué pour raconter
l’histoire du Londres coloré de Franklin avec
ses propres mots (notamment ses efforts pour
conserver la Grande-Bretagne et l’Amérique sous
l’autorité de la couronne britannique).

hour and covers three floors of the 18th century
building.
