SUMMER WINEMAKING-CULTURE SCHOOL IN BURGUNDY
June 21-27, 2015 (Registrations starting in March)
The Summer Winemaking-Culture School in Burgundy is hosted by the University of Burgundy- Vine
and Wine Institute "Jules Guyot" as part of the viticulture and enology program. Located in the heart
of Burgundy, the IUVV delivers a one-week intense course program, entirely in English, on various
aspects of burgundian viticulture, winemaking and wine culture and history.
This year the program will focus on the discovery of Burgundy terroirs, on traditional winemaking and
will give the fundamentals in wine tasting. During this program you will increase your wine tasting
skills and knowledge; gain hands-on practice working vines and making wine; enjoy field trips to
famous Burgundy wine regions. The Summer School is also about, sightseeing and socializing.
Receptions, visits to Burgundy-related sites and special events are organized for the participants.
Teachers are all well-known university professors specialized in viticulture, enology, wine history and
wine culture matters. However, for this year the summer school acclaimed some famous winemakers
and vineyard managers from Burgundy.
The Summer Course takes place in Dijon, the capital of Burgundy (1:40 minutes from Paris, by train,
30 minutes from Beaune by car). Restaurants, bars, museums, sight-seeing as well as the proximity of
some of the most famous Burgundy brands make Dijon a joyful destination.
The Summer School is opened to students in viticulture and enology, wine enthusiasts, to
professionals working in the wine and the alcohol beverage industry; to researchers on wine issues;
and anyone with a keen interest in discovering or understanding the secrets of wines from Burgundy.
Tuition covers all materials, lunches, group dinners and tastings and housing.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
