A PROGRAM OFFICER FAIR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT (POFED)
GHANA AND SIERRA LEONE

RESPONSIBILITY
-
Direct responsibility for Economic Development Programs and Local & International
Market Development (supported by ICCO’s Netherlands based Central Office).
General responsibility for effective, efficient (learning) relationships between ICCO
and partners and program coalitions, in the region, as well as the relations with ICCO
Central Office & back donors.

OVERALL JOB OBJECTIVE
-
Contribute to regional development processes by facilitating multi-actor, multi-level
Fair Economic Development programs
Support strategic relations and alliances within the framework of ICCO’s Strategic
Plan (including access to finance with Oikocredit);
Assist partners in identifying capacity-building support, cooperation with new
stakeholders and additional funding, when needed.
The team of program officers covers all thematic area’s in terms of knowledge, actors
and content.

PROFILE










FED-relevant educational background (masters Agro-Economy, Agronomy, etc)
7-10 years FED-relevant working experience, preferably also in value chain
development
Good knowledge of the social, economic & political situation in the region
Substantial international experience in a relevant field of work.
Good knowledge of development issues, understanding change processes, multi
stakeholder processes and North-South cooperation.
Excellent language skills (verbal and in writing) in English and French.
Knowledge of financial aspects related to funding of programs and basic knowledge /
experience with financial aspects related to assessment of business plans
Negotiation skills,
Networking and facilitating skills
Good writing and presentation skills

A REGIONAL FUNDRAISING OFFICER (RFO)

RESPONSIBILITY
-
The Regional Fundraising Officer is responsible for securing continuous financing from
existing donor networks and to broaden up towards new sources of financing for
Programs within the framework of the ICCO (ROWA Regional Office West Africa)
Strategic Plan.
Together with Program Officers (POs), the RFO is responsible for generating new and
maintaining existing donor relations.

OVERALL JOB OBJECTIVE
To develop and optimize resource mobilization in the region for programs and partners by
establishing and maintaining relations with (potential) donors.
PROFILE
-
Proven successful fundraising efforts with institutional donors
Strategic vision and planning capabilities
Entrepreneurial attitude and ability to respond to opportunities
Extensive relationship management skills in both private and public settings
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and French
Exceptional presentation and interpersonal skills
Good knowledge of policies and working procedures of institutional donors
