Dr. John Veinot est nommé directeur
universitaire et chef du Département de
pathologie et de médecine de laboratoire et
dirigeant des services cliniques de l’Association
des laboratoires régionaux de l’Est de l’Ontario
(ALREO)
Nous sommes heureux d’annoncer la nomination du Dr.
John Veinot comme nouveau directeur du département de
pathologie et de médecine de laboratoire à l’Université
d’Ottawa et chef clinique du département de pathologie et
de médecine de laboratoire à l’Hôpital d’Ottawa, CHEO et
ALREO.
Le Dr. Veinot, pathologiste cardiovasculaire, travaille
depuis 1994 à l’Hôpital d’Ottawa (HO), au CHEO, à
l’Université d’Ottawa et à l’Institut de cardiologie. Il est
professeur titulaire à la Faculté de médecine de
l’Université d’Ottawa et chercheur clinicien à l’Institut de
recherche de l’HO. Il a été directeur de
l’anatomopathologie et en affectation multiple à la
Division de cardiologie de l’Institut de cardiologie de
l’Université d’Ottawa. Il cumule aussi la fonction de viceprésident/président élu de la Société internationale de
pathologie cardiovasculaire. De plus, il siège au conseil
consultatif médical d’Agrément Canada.

Dr. John Veinot appointed University
Chair & Hospital Head for the
Departments of Pathology and Laboratory
Medicine and Clinical Leader for EORLA
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr.
John Veinot as the new Chair of the Department of
Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of
Ottawa and Chief/Head of the Departments of
Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at The Ottawa
Hospital, CHEO and EORLA.
Dr. Veinot is a Cardiovascular Pathologist, who has been
working at TOH, CHEO, uOttawa and the University of
Ottawa Heart Institute since 1994. He is a Full Professor
in the Faculty of Medicine, at uOttawa and a Clinical
Investigator of the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute.
Dr. Veinot has been a Director of Anatomical Pathology,
and cross appointed in the Division of Cardiology at the
uOttawa Heart Institute. He is Vice-President/President
elect of the international Society for Cardiovascular
Pathology, and sits on the physician advisory board of
Accreditation Canada.
Le Dr. Veinot a fait ses études de premier cycle à
l’Université Acadia et à la Faculté de médecine de
l’Université Dalhousie ainsi qu’un internat en rotation à
l’Hôpital Victoria à London (Ontario). Il a fait sa résidence
en anatomopathologie à l’Université Queen’s de Kingston
(Ontario) et un stage postodoctoral en pathologie
cardiovasculaire à la Clinique Mayo à Rochester (MN).
Dr. Veinot completed his undergraduate training at
Acadia University, medical school at Dalhousie Medical
School and a rotating internship at Victoria Hospital in
London, Ontario. He completed a residency in
Anatomical Pathology at Queen’s University, Kingston,
Ontario, and a fellowship in Cardiovascular Pathology at
the Mayo Clinic, Rochester MN.
Il a assumé ses nouvelles fonctions le 1er septembre 2010.
He began fulfilling the roles on September 1st, 2010.
Les Bureaux respectifs des deux institutions devraient
donner leur aval à ces nominations incessamment.
The respective Boards of both institutions are expected
to give final approval for these nominations shortly.
