Intent of this tool /Intention de cet outil /
This tool was designed to demonstrate a template for an on-site validation report. The
following questions are general in nature to CS work and reflect the specific requirements
of the CS standard.
The classification officer needs to become familiar with the work description ahead of
time, and verify, using this template, the type of information that will be required to
verify/obtain as per the CS standard to accurately rate the position. Please add to this
template the Key Activities of the work description being validated.
Reminder: When determining coincidence or lack thereof, it is imperative for both
current and future actions on this position, that the coincidence of the KAs with the duties
performed be documented and specified/explained through examples.

Methodology / Méthodologie
The Classification Officer (Class-O) will conduct the On-site Review (for instructions,
please refer to DCCO Bulletin number 7, web site below) and send the completed report
to the manager to verify its accuracy and completeness. The manager will, if in
agreement with the report, sign and provide it to the incumbent to ensure its accuracy and
for signature. The signed document must be returned to the Class-O.
An Inter-regional Classification Committee will review this report along with the Work
Description and render a classification decision, to ensure transparency and relativity
throughout the Regions.
Should management disagree with the classification decision, they may ask for a
Managerial request to review a classification decision (please refer to DCCO bulletin 12
bellow).
