Transnational Intellectual Property Law, Theory and Practice
Le CEIPI organise en collaboration avec l'Université de Droit de Washington - Seattle, le
séminaire Transnational Intellectual Property Law, Theory and Practice Cette manifestation
se déroulera à Strasbourg du lundi 23 au vendredi 27 mars et consiste en une série de
conférences à laquelle participeront des membres de l'équipe de recherche du CEIPI.
Yann Basire, (Assistant-chercheur), Stéphanie Carre (Maître de conférences), Christophe
Geiger (Maître de conférences et Directeur Général du CEIPI), Thibaud Lelong (Assistantchercheur), Franck Macrez (Maître de conférences), Céline Meyrueis (Maître de
conférences), Emmanuel Py (Docteur en Droit), Joanna Schmidt (Professeur et responsable
du Laboratoire de Recherche du CEIPI) et Dieter Stauder (Professeur associé).
Cette manifestation est réservée aux étudiants sélectionnés par les Universités participant
au programme.
The CEIPI, in partnership with the University of Washington School of Law - Seattle
organises the seminarTransnational Intellectual Property Law, Theory and Practice to be
held in Strasbourg between Monday 23, March and Friday 27, March. This seminar consists
of a series of lectures given by academics and members of the CEIPI team, including:

Geiger (Associate Professor and General Director of CEIPI), Thibaud Lelong (Research
Assistant), Franck Macrez (Associate Professor), Céline Meyrueis (Associate Professor),

Laboratory) and Dieter Stauder (Associate Professor).

Le CEIPI entame un cycle de conférence visant à donner la parole à des universitaires,
chercheurs ou praticiens reconnus pour qu’ils puissent proposer un regard original sur la
propriété intellectuelle. La première conférence se tiendra le 31 mars à 11h30 et aura pour
thème :
Le brevet : stimulus ou frein à l'innovation ? par François Lévèque, Professeur de droit et
d’économie, l’École des Mines ParisTech, CERNA, Paris.
Cette conférence se déroulera à l’I.S.U. (Institut Spatial universitaire)

The CEIPI organises a series of lectures, allowing scholars, researchers or practitioners to
propose an inventive glance on intellectual property. The first lecture will take place the 31
March at 11.30 and the topic will be:

Towards an international instrument on Copyright Limitations
Christophe Geiger, Directeur Général du CEIPI, interviendra sur le thème "Towards an
international instrument on Copyright Limitations" le 1er mai 2009 à New York lors de la
conférence internationale organisée par la NYU School of Law intitulée "Ceilings on
Intellectual Property Rights".
Christophe Geiger, General Director of CEIPI will participate the 1, May 2009 in New York at
the symposium "Ceilings on Intellectual Property Rights" organised by the NYU School of
Law. Christophe Geiger's topic will be : "Towards an international instrument on Copyright
Limitations"
From 1710 to Cyberspace
Le 15 Juin 2009, Christophe Geiger, Directeur Général du CEIPI, interviendra à Londres lors
de la conférence annuelle de l'ALAI intitulée: "From 1710 to Cyberspace".

Joanna Schmidt-Szalewski Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur / Joanna
Schmidt-Szalewski Awarded « Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur »
Le 27 février dernier, Mme Joanna Schmidt-Szalewski, Professeur au CEIPI et à l’Université
de Strasbourg et responsable du Laboratoire de recherche du CEIPI s’est vue remettre des
mains de Mme Florence Benoît-Rohmer, ancienne Présidente de l’Université Robert
Schuman, les insignes de Chevalier de la Légion d’honneur.
On the 27 February, Joanna Schmidt-Szalewski, Professor at the University of Strasbourg
and head of the CEIPI’s Research Laboratory has been awarded the high distinction
“Chevalier de la Légion d’honneur”. The award was given by Florence Benoît-Rohmer,
former President of the Robert Schuman University.
Coopération Renforcée entre le CEIPI et l'OAPI / A Stronger Cooperation
Between the CEIPI and the OAPI
Le 11 février dernier, s'est tenue à Strasbourg une rencontre entre le CEIPI et l'OAPI
(Organisation Africaine de la Propriété Intellectuelle). Une série d'actions ont été décidées
visant à renforcer la coopération entre les deux organismes. Cette réunion fait suite à la
déclaration de Dakar sur la propriété intellectuelle et le développement économique et social
des états membres de l'OAPI.
M. Paulin Edou Edou, directeur général de l'OAPI, a également profité de sa présence à
Strasbourg pour donner une conférence auprès des étudiants du CEIPI sur le système de
protection de la propriété intellectuelle de l'OAPI.
On 11 february 2009, a meeting was held in Strasbourg between the CEIPI and the OAPI
(African Intellectual Property Organization). A series of decisions have been made in order to
reinforce the cooperation between the two bodies.This meeting followed the Dakar meeting
on the intellectual property and the social and economical development of the member states
of the OAPI.
Paulin Edou Edou, General Director of the OAPI had a lecture for the CEIPI students on the
system of protection of intellectual property in Africa.

que le calendrier des semaines de cours en cycle accéléré brevets et en cycle accéléré

possibles qu'à partir du mois d'avril.

L’inscription à la formation de base en droit européen des brevets est désormais ouverte.
Organisée conjointement par le CEIPI et l’epi (Institut des Mandataires Agrées près l’Office
Européen des Brevets), cette formation propose un enseignement systématique et complet
sur les fondements juridiques ainsi que sur la pratique en matière de droit européen des
brevets.
Enrolment to the Basic European Patent Law Training Course are open. Jointly organised by
CEIPI and epi (Institute of the Professionnal Representattives before the E.P.O.), this course
provides systematic and complete tuition on the legal basis as well as on practice in the area
of European patent law.
