Based in Orrick's Paris office, Hervé
Kensicher is a Banking & Finance lawyer
with considerable experience in real estate
finance as well as in domestic and crossborder out-of-court restructuring and French
bankruptcy.
Recognized by Chambers & Partners as a leading lawyer on the
French market, Hervé covers a wide range of transactional banking
and finance work which includes: domestic and multi-jurisdictional
property finance, structured finance, project finance and public
utilities finance, performing and distressed debt portfolio disposals,
and debt restructuring.
According to the legal directory, clients describe Hervé as having
"very good technical skills when it comes to real estate finance." As
such, he has recently assisted numerous borrowers and lenders on
the renegotiation of their real estate loans and is a key counsel to
purchasers and sellers of real estate debt. Hervé is notably
regularly involved in the financing of major real estate projects such
as the construction of the headquarters of leading French mobile
company SFR and the 2nd largest office tower in Marseille.
Before joining Orrick in 2006, Hervé served 24 years at Freshfields
Bruckhaus Deringer, including 15 as a partner and over 6 years in
the foreign offices of the firm (London, New York and the Moscow
office, which he opened in 1992 and managed).
A member of the Strategic and Pedagogical Committees of the
HEAD law school, Hervé is a lecturer in Banking Finance and
Contracts.
