Deux personnages physiquement très différents sur un ring de boxe. Pas de pitié, pas de pardon,
mais respect, intégrité et … humour délicat.
Créé pour les Rencontres Internationales 2009 qui ont marqué les 30 ans du Créahm, ce duo de
Denise Gospodarek et de Alain Meert, est formé par des personnages proches des ‘performers’. Une
structure qui cadre l’opposition, la rencontre et le jeu en toute liberté.
Two personalities very different from each other, find themselves in a boxing ring. No pity, no mercy,
but respect, integrity and … delicate humour. This duo was created for the Rencontres Internationales
2009 for the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Creahm. The chosen characters of the piece found
their inspiration closed to the authentic personality of the two performers. A structure that gives the
possibility of opposition, approach and freedom of being.

Denise GOSPODAREK (1974)
Née en Allemagne, vit et travaille à Liège (B).
Denise Gospodarek a reçu une formation en danse classique, jazz, et danse contemporaine à Dresde (D) et
Amsterdam (NL). Elle a participé à différents projets aux Pays-Bas et en Autriche. Ces six dernières années, elle
a été membre permanent de la compagnie Irène K en Belgique. Actuellement, elle se concentre sur son travail
personnel. Depuis 2005, elle a initié un projet interactif sur le mouvement ‘Le Bar Basal’ . Elle s’intéresse à la
danse d’art thérapie comme méthode de création.
Born in Germany, settled in Liège(B).
Denise Gospodarek received her dance education in Dresden (D)- classical dance - and Amsterdam (NL) –
contemporary and jazz dance. She participated in various projects in the Netherlands and Austria. The last six
years, she was a permanent member of the dance company Irene K. Recently she focuses on her own work.
Since 2005, she leads an interactive mouvement performance ‘The Bar Basal’. Her interest goes to art therapy
as a method to create piece.
Alain MEERT (B)

Depuis 1996, il fréquente les ateliers artistiques du Créahm Région Wallonne à Liège.
Acquisition dans la collection permanente du Madmusée : 2005.
Dès son arrivée au Créahm, où il participe aux ateliers danse et arts plastiques, Alain Meert impose résolument
son tempérament mais aussi sa belgitude. A l'origine, il se plaît à ne travailler que les couleurs du drapeau
belge et ses sujets traitent principalement du football. En 2002, il s’approprie le projet collectif de caravane du
Créahm, présentée à la Zinneke Parade à Bruxelles, pour le transformer en un véhicule personnalisé aux
couleurs et motifs belges. En 2005, avec Alain Winand, il conçoit le projet de performance « A. M. meets L.
A. » : un tableau vivant, un ricochet d'actions, de danses et de paroles autour de l'univers de la poétesse Laurie
Anderson.
Alain Meert est avant tout un homme de scène, concepteur d’un univers artistique ludique qui s'articule autour
de l'expérimentation perpétuelle du corps. Chacune de ses créations plastiques est un élément d’un processus
de recherches diverses où l’humour et l’autodérision sont omniprésents. Comédien et danseur, ce
perturbateur sympathique, cet agitateur gourmand, occupe véritablement l’espace, toujours sur le fil, quelque
part entre légèreté et gravité.
Alain Meert has attended the Créahm artistic workshop in Liege since 1996. As soon as he arrived at the
Créahm where he took part in the dance and plastic arts workshops, Meert imposed not only his personality but
also his Belgianess. Initially, he was only interested in working with the colours of the Belgian flag and most of
his pieces revolved around football. With time, and without neglecting his favourite subjects, the artist also
learnt to work on different themes and use a wider variety of tools. Although he has acquired a great deal of
technical skill, the artist is constantly trying out new and different materials. In 2002 he got involved in the
group project for the Créahm float participating in the Zinneke Parade in Brussels and transformed it into a
moving expression of Belgian colours and motifs. In 2005, working with Alain Winand, he thought up the
performance project “A. M. meets L. A.” a living tableau, a ricochet of action, dance, and words around Laurie
Anderson’s world.
