NEW CAP MEDAL - SUBATOMIC PHYSICS
CAP-TRIUMF VOGT MEDAL
(for Outstanding Experimental or Theoretical Contributions to Subatomic Physics)
MÉDAILLE VOGT DE L’ACP-TRIUMF
(pour l'excellence dans le domaine de la recherche théorique ou expérimentale en physique subatomique )
Le but de cette médaille est
de reconnaître et d'encourager les contributions
exceptionnelles aussi bien
expérimentales que théoriques en physique subatomique.
The purpose of this medal
is to recognize and encourage outstanding experimental or theoretical contributions
to
subatomic
physics.
While the main criterion for
awarding the Vogt medal is
the excellence of the
research accomplishments,
preference will be given for
a recent important advance
in subatomic physics and to
researchers who are still
active. The candidate's
research should have been
done primarily in Canada or
in
affiliation
with
a
Canadian university, industry or government laboratory.
Bien que le critère principal
pour l'attribution de la
médaille Vogt reste l'excellence des réalisations en
recherche, préférence sera
donnée à des avancées
récentes en physique subatomique
par
des
chercheurs encore actifs.
La contribution scientifique
du candidat devra avoir été
réalisée principalement au
Canada ou en partenariat
avec une université, une
industrie ou un laboratoire
gouvernemental canadien.
The medal will be awarded
by
the
Canadian
Association of Physicists
on the recommendation of
a selection committee
established
by
the
Canadian Association of
Physicists and TRIUMF. In
addition to the medal, the
recipient will receive a certificate citing the contributions being recognized by
the award and a small monetary award.
The recipient will also be invited to give a talk at the
CAP Congress where the medal will be presented.
La médaille sera attribuée
par l'Association canadienne des physiciens et
physiciennes ( ACP) selon
la recommendation d'un
comité de sélection établi
par l'ACP et TRIUMF. En
plus de la médaille, le lauréat recevra un certificat
indiquant la ou les contributions qui sont reconnues
par cet octroît ainsi qu'une
modeste rémunération.
Le lauréat sera aussi invité à donner une présentation au congrès de l'ACP où aura lieu la remise
de la médaille.
