L’HISTOIRE
Petite propriété de 6 ha située sur les coteaux
sud de Castillon.
Appartenant à la famille Rollet depuis 1729,
celle-ci possède trois autres Châteaux en St
Emilion Grand Crus.
Les vignes sont plantées sur un sol argilocalcaire et profitent d’une exposition sud
favorisant la production de vins riches en
fruit.
La propriété possède sa propre station
météorologique, permettant ainsi à Nathalie
Vidaillac d’intervenir au moment de plus
grande sensibilité avec des produits de
traitement respectueux de l’environnement et
à des doses appropriées à la surface foliaire.
LE VIN
85% merlot, 15% cabernet franc.
Vendanges manuelles.
Elevage pendant 18 mois dont 12 en barrique
pour 70% du vin.
Belle couleur rouge soutenu. Nez parfumé
aux arômes de fruits noirs comme la cerise,
les framboises et le cassis. Note boisée. En
bouche c’est un vin charnu et puissant,
fruité et boisé à la fois. Belle persistance
aromatique.
Il accompagnera à merveille les viandes
rouges, gibiers et fromages.

THE STORY
Family owned estate of 6 ha situated on the south
facing hilltops of Castillon.
Chateau La Fourquerie had been in Jean-Pierre
Rollet’s family since 1729. They are also the owners
of 3 Saint Emilion Grands Crus Châteaux!
The vineyard is planted on calcerous-clay soil
and the deeper soil layers have a very high iron
content. Facing south, the vines benefits from
maximum sun exposition, producing wine rich in
fruit.
The estate has its private meteorological station
that is directly linked up to disease detection
software allowing the winemaker Nathalie
Vidaillac to intervene at the optimal moment with
the exact doses required for the exact leaf area
whilst respecting the environment.
THE WINE
85% merlot, 15% cabernet franc
Hand picked.
70% of the blend had been aged for 18 months in
French oak barrels.
Brilliant red colour. Nose of red and black berries
(blackcurrant, raspberry, cherry) and a hint of
smokiness. Robust and powerful mouth full of
fruit and spices. Long lingering finish.
Ideal served at 17°C with red meats, game and
most cheeses.
