APPEL DE DOSSIER POUR LA SAISON 2015-16

Le Studio 303 lance pour une troisième édition
l'événement Métamorphose qui aura lieu les 7 et 8
novembre 2015.
Nous offrons une résidence pour soutenir une
collaboration entre deux artistes : l'un en art visuel,
l'autre en mouvement (danse, théâtre physique,
performance).
Ainsi, le Studio 303 cherche à stimuler un échange
entre deux univers artistiques. Comment le
performeur donne-t-il vie à l'imaginaire de l'artiste
visuel ? Comment celui-ci vient à son tour altérer
l'esthétique du mouvement ?
De cette collaboration peut émerger nombre de
possibilités - mais peut-on assister à la
métamorphose du visuel et/ou du mouvement ?

Nous cherchons à former deux duos visuel/mouvement - avec des artistes ayant un réel désir
d'expérimenter une collaboration. Vous pouvez répondre à cet appel en tant qu'artiste solo
(auquel cas vous serez jumelé avec un autre artiste), ou bien en tant que duo. Les artistes
n'ayant jamais travailler ensemble seront priorisés.
Informations pratiques :
- Les résidences auront lieu en septembre (une semaine) et en octobre (une semaine).
- Les présentations auront lieu le samedi 7 et le dimanche 8 novembre 2015.
- Le programme de soirée sera composé de deux performances de 15 à 20 minutes chacune,
suivies de d'une discussion informelle avec le public et les artistes
- Chaque duo (visuel/mouvement) se verra offrir 40 heures de studio pour la création.
- Un cachet de 1 350 $ sera offert par artiste (soit 2 700$ par duo).
- Seuls les artistes sélectionnés seront contactés.

Studio 303 is launching the third edition of
Métamorphose on November 7th-8th, 2015.
Métamorphose is a commissioning residency
experiment that proposes a collaboration between
a visual artist (installation, sculpture, wearable art,
etc) and a movement-based artist (dance, physical
theatre, performance art, etc).
Studio 303 seeks to nurture an active exchange
between these two artistic worlds.
How can a performer animate the visual artist’s
creation? How will a visual artist's aesthetic affect
the moving body? Will we ultimately witness a
metamorphosis of both object and action?

The program will feature two visual/movement
Stephen Thompson et Natalie Purschwitz par Valérie Sangin
duos by artists demonstrating a deep thirst for this
type of collaborative process. You may apply as
either a visual artist or a movement artist - in which case we will pair you with a collaborator.
Artists may also apply as a visual-movement duo. However, priority will be given to first-time
collaborations over artists who have a history writing together.
Practical information:
- Residency periods are one week in September and one week in October
- Public presentations are Saturday November 7th and Sunday November 8th, 2015.
- The outcomes will be presented (15-20 minutes each) followed by an informal discussion with
the public and the artists.
- Studio 303 will provide each collaborative-duo (visual artist / performing artist) with 40 studio
hours for research, creation and fine-tuning.
- Artists will receive a 1 350 $ honorarium (i.e. 2 700 $ per duo).
- Only selected artists will be contacted.
