Water Polo Background
I started playing water-polo in the summer of
2000 at the age of nine. I was inspired after
watching a game at the Sydney Olympics on
television and shortly after joined Hull Aqua-Polo.
My first time representing Team Canada was
at the Youth Pan American Championships in
Dominican Republic in 2007. In 2010, I moved to
Calgary to further pursue my water-polo career.

Greatest Influence
My parents have been a big influence in my
water-polo career. Also, many water-polo
coaches throughout my career. Aleksandar
Beslin, Dragan Jovanovic, Scott Smith, Andras
Szeri, Bela Szeri, Pierre Fiset and Egon Kiss
are some of the coach that have been the most
influential.

Expérience en water-polo
J’ai commencé à jouer au water-polo à l’été
2000 à l’âge de neuf ans. J’ai été inspiré après
avoir regardé un match aux Jeux olympiques de
Sydney à la télévision et peu après, j’ai joint le
Club Aqua-Polo de Hull. J’ai représenté Équipe
Canada pour la première fois au Championnat
panaméricain jeunesse en République
dominicaine en 2007. En 2010, j’ai déménagé à
Calgary pour poursuivre ma carrière de waterpolo.

Mes parents ont eu une grande influence dans
ma carrière de water-polo. De plus, plusieurs
entraîneurs de water-polo ont été très influents
pendant ma carrière, dont Aleksandar Beslin,
Dragan Jovanovic, Scott Smith, Andras Szeri,
Bela Szeri, Pierre Fiset et Egon Kiss.

Hometown:
Beaconsfield, Quebec
Boyd began his career for the Dollard des
Ormeaux water polo club in Montreal, Quebec
before moving to Calgary to be a part of the
Senior Men’s National Team. Boyd has won
seven national level titles with his club team in
Canada. He has also played professional water
polo in Montenegro and is currently playing in
Italy for the club Ortigia. Boyd has been a part
of the Senior team since 2008 participating
in the Beijing Olympics as well as the World
Championships in both Rome and Shanghai in
2009 & 2011 respectively.
Strengths
Boyd considers his strengths to be his hard work
ethic along with a great passion for the game.
Goals
Boyd’s goal is to help Canada become a top
contender at the world stage.

Nicolas started his career with C.A.M.O. waterpolo Club in Montreal in 2006. Then he joined
the Junior National Team in 2008. In 2010,
he won the 1st gold medal in the history of
Canada’s Junior Pan Am Championship. He
has been with the Senior National for 5 years
and participated in two World Championship,
in Rome in 2009 and Shanghai in 2011. Since
September, he moved to France to play with the
professional club in Marseille.
Strengths
Work, determination and agility with the ball are
certainly elements that have led me where I am
in my career.
Goals
My goal is to participate in the Olympics in Rio in
2016.
During the next three years, I really want to
improve my game to help my team to compete at
the highest level.

commence ma cinquième année au sein de
l’équipe nationale senior. J’ai participé à deux
championnats du monde, à Rome en 2009 et à
Shanghai en 2011. Depuis le mois de septembre,
j’évolue au sein du club professionnel de
Marseille.
Forces
Le travail, la détermination et l’agilité avec le
ballon sont certainement les éléments qui m’ont
mené où je suis rendu dans ma carrière sportive.
Objectifs
Mon objectif est de participer aux jeux lympiques
de Rio en 2016.
Pendant les trois prochaines années, je veux
absolument améliorer mon jeu pour aider mon
équipe à compétitionner au plus haut niveau.
Depuis que je demeure en Europe, mes passetemps sont un peu différents. Quand j’ai le
temps, j’en profite pour visiter la ville. J’aime bien
aller prendre un café avec des amis. J’écoute
aussi énormément de films.
Pour ce qui est de mon école, je continue mon
cégep à distance.

Conway started his career in 1998 with the
Ottawa Titans. He first joined the Junior National
Team in the summer of 2007. After spending
three years with the Junior National team, he
centralized in Calgary with the Senior National
Team in 2009.

Conway is a graduate from Ashbury College with
high honours, an average of 87 percent. He was
awarded the Best Overall Athlete in his senior
year. When he has a few moments for downtime,
Conway enjoys competing in various sports such
as triathlons, running, soccer and cross-country
skiing. He also takes pleasure in spending time
with family and friends.

Conway a commencé sa carrière avec les

National Team since joining the National Training
Centre in Calgary in 2006. He was also a

2005-2007.

Greece. At the age of 16, he moved to Athens to
join the Vouliagmeni Nautical Club youth team

and N.A.O. Kerkiras between 2008 and 2013.

Graham started his career in 1994, he enrolled
with the Regina Squids as a part of the Learn
To Play program. Graham moved from Regina
to Calgary to centralize with the national team in
2004, before heading to a much warmer climate,
Australia, where he played for Sydney Wests
in the Australian national water polo league.
After completing the 2006/-07 season with the
Australian side, Graham then moved on to
Montenegro, where he played 2 seasons with
PVK Jadran. From there he moved to ZF Eger,
Hungary, where he has been playing for the past
4 seasons.
Strengths
Graham considers himself a self-confident
athlete who is highly motivated to excel in any
endeavour he happens to undertake.

To represent Canada at the 2016 Olympic
Games.

Milan Radenovic
Je joue au water-polo depuis 8 ans. J’ai
débuté avec le Club de water-polo Mavericks
de Toronto. Après avoir joint l’équipe junior

substitut, puis finalement comme gardien de but

Randall began playing in 1987, following in the
footsteps of his older brother, Dee Jay. Both
Randall brothers experienced a great deal of
success in the sport, but it was Robin who was
able to stand out, first joining the junior program, before continuing on with the senior team.

In the year 1995, I started to work with the junior
team of the Water Polo club Becej.
From 1995 to 1999, I worked in Becej with all
junior and youth categories.
From 2000 to 2003, I was responsible for all
categories in water polo club Becej as a super
visor and coach. During this time, all junior
and youth players were among the best in the
country.

From 2001 to 2003, I joined the national team of
SR Yugoslavia as coach and took part in national

Sophie has been playing water polo for most of
her life. Starting in the Montreal Metro League,
she then developed into the player she is
through the CAMO club system. First gaining
some international experience with the Quebec
Team, Sophie made the Junior National Team
in 2006 and played at the Junior Pan Ams and
then the Junior World Championships in 2007.
After temporarily retiring in 2008, Sophie has
begun her comeback to international water polo
in 2010.

Joelle began swimming with the PCSC at the
age of 6. She began her water polo career
at the community outdoor pools of the West
Island and participated in the summer league
for a few years before joining DDO Water Polo
in 2001. She’s been playing competitive water
polo since the age of 13. Joelle made the Junior
National Team at the age of 16 and represented
Canada at two Junior World Championships.
She’s been on the Senior National Team for
the past 7 years. Joelle was part of the silver
medal winning Canadian team at the 2007 Pan

A product of the Calgary Renegades Water Polo
Club, Kelly made her international debut at the
junior level at the 2008 Junior Pan American
Championships and it didn’t take long for people
to take notice of her shot. Since then, she
has played in two junior world championships
and has proven herself to be a threat from the
outside in every game she plays. In addition
to her national team career, Kelly is also a
standout with the University of Hawaii where she
is pursuing her degree. The next goal for Kelly
will be breaking onto the Senior National Team
roster and she is certainly proving she has what
it takes.

One of the success stories of Ottawa’s “I Love
Water Polo” program, Rebekka started playing
water polo when she was 7 years old. It didn’t
take long for the Ottawa Titans’ coaches to
realize what they had with Rebekka and moved
her to the competitive program a year later. Since
then, she has been competing domestically with
the Titans while also spending the last four years
representing Canada at the junior level at two
Junior Pan American Championships and two
Junior World Championships. Rebekka certainly
has a bright future with the National Teams as a
center forward for the years to come.

Justin Oliveira
Position: Assistant Coach

Justin’s started his water polo career as a player
with the Dollard Water Polo Club in 1998 and
a few short years later, he was representing
Canada at junior and youth level. During his
playing career Justin represented Canada at the
2003 Junior World Championships in Italy and
the 2004 Junior Pan-American Championships
in El Salvador. For the Dollard Water Polo Club,
he was part of back-to-back Juvenile National
Champion teams and one Junior National
Champion team.
Preceding his final year as a player, he became
involved with the club as a coach and recruiter
while completing his degree in Urban Studies
from Concordia University. During his club
coaching career with Dollard he was part of three
National Champion Teams from 2005 to 2010. In
addition to his coaching with Dollard, he coached
the Women’s Quebec Team from 2007 to 2010
competing against various European teams.
Justin got his first breakthrough with the National
Team as a head coach in the Canadian Select
League in 2007. In early 2010 he became a parttime assistant coach at the National Training
Center, while also being the head coach of the
Women’s Youth National Team. By the end of
2010 he quickly moved up the ranks becoming
a full-time assistant coach with the Women’s
Senior National Team.

Justin Oliveira

Justin a fait ses débuts en water-polo en tant
que joueur du Club de Water-polo de Dollard en
1998. Quelques années plus tard, il représentait le Canada au niveau jeunesse et junior. En
tant qu’athlète, Justin a représenté le Canada
au Championnat du monde junior en Italie en
2003 et au Championnat panaméricain junior
au Salvador en 2004. Il a aussi remporté deux
Championnats canadiens jeunesse consécutifs
et un Championnat canadien junior avec le Club
de Water-polo de Dollard.
Durant sa dernière année en tant qu’athlète, il a
fait ses débuts en tant qu’entraîneur et recruteur
de water-polo tout en terminant son baccalauréat en urbanisme à l’Université Concordia. En
tant qu’entraîneur avec Dollard, il a remporté
3 Championnats canadiens de 2005 à 2010.
En plus d’entraîner à Dollard, il a travaillé avec
l’Équipe du Québec féminine de 2007 à 2010 et
a disputé plusieurs parties contre de nombreuses équipes européennes.
Justin a commencé sa carrière d’entraîneur de
l’équipe nationale en 2007 en tant qu’entraîneurchef dans la Ligue canadienne sélecte. En 2010,
il est devenu entraîneur-adjoint à temps partiel
au Centre d’entraînement national tout en étant
entraîneur-chef de l’Équipe nationale jeunesse
féminine. À la fin de 2010, il est rapidement
devenu entraîneur-adjoint à temps plein avec
l’Équipe nationale senior féminine.

I started with the team in 1993 while they were
in preparation for the FINA World Aquatic
Championships in Rome 1994.
From that point on, I did 2 Olympic Games;
Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004, 2 Pan Am
Games; Santo Domingo 2003 and Rio 2007.
I participated at 7 Aquatic World Championships
including Rome this past summer.
Position: Massage Therapist

I also went to other major tournaments with
the team, such as the World League, the FINA
Cup, the Holiday Cup, Kirishi’s Cup and other
international tournaments.
I also work with the WTA for the women’s tennis
for events in Montreal and in Quebec.
I have been a massotherapist for over 20
years and I taught massotherapy for 17 years,
including Swedish, kinésitherapy and sport
techniques and have been practicing in a private
clinic for 20 years now.
