Buhlmann Rohr-Fittings-Stahlhandel
GmbH + Co. KG is a globally active
company trading in steel tubes and
pipes as well as fittings. As a partner to
the industry, the company supplies customers in the power station engineering
sector, chemical industry as well as shipbuilding and mechanical engineering
companies. In family ownership since its
foundation in 1945, Buhlmann today is
managed in the second generation by
the brothers Bernhard and Karl
Buhlmann.

The width and depth of the range of
steel tubes, pipes and fittings – from
plain carbon steels through to high alloy
stainless steels – are key to the success
of Buhlmann. High-quality steel tubes
and pipes conforming to international
standards are immediately available in a
wide range of sizes. “It has always been
our policy to avoid mass-produced
steel”, explained Bernhard Buhlmann,“
and to stock more high-quality products.“ The main emphasis is on seamless and welded tubes and pipes, as well
as fittings and flanges conforming to
US-American ASTM, European EN and
DIN standards. Buhlmann also stocks
alloyed and unalloyed carbon steel
tubes, pipes and fittings, including an
extensive range of tubes and pipes, fittings and flanges in special alloys. “As
one of the leading stockists in Europe,
we are constantly expanding our range
of products,“ Bernhard Buhlmann
added, “in order to comply with market
requirements.”
The emphasis of the product range is
also on stainless steel tubes, pipes and
fittings: “Intensive research and development in the chemical and petrochemical industry has given rise in recent
years to the evolution of numerous new
processes that place new demands on
production,” said Bernhard Buhlmann.
High alloy materials are used in these
industries mainly due to the shortage of
raw materials and tightened environmental regulations. “That is why we are
constantly expanding our range of
stainless steel products as part of our
consistent customer awareness policy,“
explained Bernhard Buhlmann.
Within the range of stainless steel products, stainless elbows, fittings and
flanges as well as seamless and welded
products in standard materials play a
central role. Buhlmann offers these
tubes, pipes and fittings seamless in
conformance with DIN 17458 PK1/2 –
AD-W2/AD-W10 and ASTM/ASME
A/SA 312 (tolerances according to EN
ISO 1127, and ASTM A 530). The
company supplies welded products in
conformance with DIN 17455 /17457
PK1/2 – AD-W2/AD-W10 and
ASTM/ASME A/ SA 312 (tolerances
according to EN ISO 1127 and ASTM A
530). Buhlmann stocks heat-resistant
and high alloy stainless steel tubes and
pipes, elbows, fittings and flanges in the
following materials: 1.4462 (Duplex),
1.4539 (904 L), 1.4712, 1.4841.
The range of stainless steel
products of Buhlmann is supplemented by elbows, tees,
reducers and caps conforming
to DIN and ANSI: seamless
and welded fittings conforming to DIN 2605, 2615, 2616
und 2617 in the materials
1.4541 and 1.4571, as well
as ANSI B 16.9 and 16.28 in
the materials ASTM A 403
WP 304/304 L to 316/316 L
– 321. The range of products
is rounded off by an extensive selection
of flanges conforming to DIN and ANSI.
Buhlmann stocks flanges conforming to
DIN 2642 and DIN 2576, welding neck
flanges conforming to DIN 2632, 2633,
2634, 2635, 2636, 2637 und 2638 and
blind flanges conforming to DIN 2527,
PN10 – 40 in the materials 1.4541 und
1.4571. Buhlmann stocks welding
neck, slip-on and blind flanges 150 to
1500 lbs in the material ASTM A 182 F
304/304 L, 316/316 L and 321/321 H.
conforming to ANSI standards.
Products are obtained from worldwide
recognised manufacturers, primarily in
Western Europe and Japan, whereby
quality is once again the main criterion.

steel manufacturers who can guarantee
the standard of quality our customers
expect from us,“ explained Bernhard
Buhlmann. International customers
include companies in the shipbuilding
industry, mechanical, boiler and power
station engineering sector, as well as the
chemical and petrochemical industry.
Expansion is the company strategy also
in future: A new administration building
with exemplary energy supply is currently being built at the Bremen site and
new warehouses and an office building
in Duisburg-Rheinhausen are due for
completion by the summer. Bernhard
