Helix antennas are known for its good circular
polarization that makes it suitable for satellite
communications. However, present systems
only offer limited bandwidth, often less than 8%.
Our new broadband printed quadrifilar helix
antenna (BPQH) is composed of 4 wires printed
on a flexible dielectric substrate. This
configuration enables the bandwidth to reach
30%, keeping a compact size and offering a
pure circular polarization on a very large area.
Covered by a radome, this antenna can be
mounted on ships for example.
