*Wanted: individuals to volunteer as Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) reps for area School Boards. Training
(October 17 & 18, in Toronto) is offered with all expenses covered. For info, please contact the office.
*Our Communication Supports Program continues thanks to the Kingston Foundation for ASD. Contact the office
to arrange a time to create personalized visual schedules, power cards & social scripts.
*Kingston Chapter New Member Drive continues until October 31 with half the membership fee staying in Kingston!
*Queen’s Interprofessional Developmental Disabilities Education Day (IDE) Day provides students with the
opportunity to communicate with adults with DD and working with their caregivers. To participate or get more
information, email Phil Kocher at <[email protected]>, or leave a message at (613) 344-2090.
*ASD families are invited to sign up at www.AutismResearch.com. Families can participate in our studies by
mail/phone/email/online. You may also like us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/autismresearchregistry.
*For the fall, Extend-A-Family’s programs and registrations will be one month at a time. For info: 613-544-8939.
*Youth (14-25y) with an ASD and/or their parents are wanted for a study about how to support youth with autism
transitioning from high school to employment/volunteer work. Contact [email protected]

Tuesday Oct 7- Nov 25, 6:30-7:30 pm Building Club for children aged 6-12. Volunteers needed.
Tuesday, Oct 7 to Nov 25, 6:30-7:30 pm Sibling Group based on “Please Listen” for children 6-12y with a
sibling with ASD. Offered by CMHA. The child with ASD is not required to attend Building Club.

October 14, 5:30 – 7:30 pm Public Engagement Session regarding Child and Family Services Act review
targeting improving outcomes for children/youth, and modernizing/clarifying the language of the Act.

October 18, 8pm -1am 3rd annual Halloween Dance Fundraiser at Zorbas, with music by Music Makers
DJ & sponsored by Blossoms Fresh Fruit Arrangements and Domino’s Pizza. Tickets now available at the
office and Blossoms for $15 each! Must be legal drinking age to attend. Volunteers needed.
October 21, doors open at 5:30 pm, starts at 6pm “Does this make my Asperger’s look big?” at Duncan
McArthur Hall. $10 or donation. This is in place of our Family Support Meeting. Join us after for coffee.

spécialisée (SEAC) pour quelques conseils. Chaque automne, Autisme Ontario offre une formation aux
