MONSIEUR LE BAILLI ayant présenté à la Cour un Ordre de Sa Très Excellente Majesté en Conseil en date du 3 Juin, 1958, transmettant pour enregistrement et publication dans l’Ile copie de certain Acte legislatif passé dans les 5e et 6e années du Règne de sa Majesté la Reine Elizabeth II, No. 1, intitulé : “The Channel Islands (Church Legislation) Measure, 1931 (Amendment) Measure, 1957” ; Lecture en ayant été donnée : LA COUR, conformément aux conclusions du Procureur-Général de la Reine, a ordonné, en exécution dudit Ordre, que tant ledit Acte que ledit Ordre le transmettant soient enregistrés sur les records de cette Ile et publiés par l’Officier au lieu ordinaire, à jour de marché, afin que toutes personnes puissent en avoir connaissance. Revised Edition – 31 August 2004 Chapter 09.135 Page - 3 4 Jersey in Council Order 15/1958 Channel Islands (Church Legislation) Measure, 1931 (Amendment) Measure, 1957 CHANNEL ISLANDS (CHURCH LEGISLATION) MEASURE, 1931 (AMENDMENT) MEASURE, 1957. ____________ At the Court at Buckingham Palace. ____________ The 3rd day of June, 1958. ____________ Present The Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty in Council. ____________ IT is this day ordered by Her Majesty, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, that printed copies of the following named Measure be transmitted to the Royal Court of the Island of Jersey, viz.: 5 and 6 Eliz. 2, No. 1, “The Channel Islands (Church Legislation) Measure, 1931 (Amendment) Measure, 1957.” AND it is hereby further ordered that the said Measure be registered and published in the Island of Jersey, not as being essential to its operation therein, but that Her Majesty’s subjects in the said Island may have notice of the said Measure having passed, and that they are bound thereby. AND the Lieutenant-Governor and Commander-in-Chief for the time being, and also the Bailiff and Jurats of the Royal Court of the Island of Jersey, are to give the necessary directions herein as to them may respectively appertain. [17th July, 1957] AMENDMENT OF S.2 AND S.3 OF THE CHANNEL ISLANDS (CHURCH LEGISLATION) MEASURE, 1931. 21 & 22 GEO. 5. No. 4 1. In section two of the Channel Islands (Church Legislation) Measure, 1931,1 (hereinafter referred to as “the principal Measure”) the words “within two years after its passing” and in section three of the principal Measure2 the words “within five years from the passing of this Measure” are hereby repealed. AMENDMENT OF PARA. 4 OF THE SCHEDULE TO THE SAME MEASURE 2. Paragraph 4 of the Schedule to the principal Measure 3 is hereby amended by substituting for the words “one calendar month” the words “fifteen days”. SHORT TITLE AND CITATION 3. This Measure may be cited as the Channel Islands (Church Legislation) Measure, 1931 (Amendment) Measure, 1957, and this Measure and the principal Measure may be cited together as the Channel Islands (Church Legislation) Measures, 1931 and 1957. 1 2 3 Tome 1929–1932, page 400.
