live music and seasonal dining specials down the strip.

This is Lake Placid’s largest
ski hill and, at 1,045 metres,
the highest vertical drop in
eastern North America. (To
put that in perspective, it
tops Vail, Aspen, Lake
Louise and Mont
Tremblant.) The mountain’s
park-and-pike terrain
brings 13 acres of jumps,
rails and half-pipes to the
already adrenalin-pumping
runs. No wonder this town
has hosted the Olympic
Winter Games – twice.
